PAP: Concerned Gbaramatu Students in NMU writes Otuaro, appeals for inclusion as beneficiaries
A group of students under the aegis of Concerned Gbaramatu Students in the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has written an open letter of appeal to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, praying for an opportunity to "become part of the beneficiaries of the PAP scheme" owing to financial distress and hardship.
The open letter dated Monday, September 23, 2024, is signed by Mike James Brubor (Nautical Science Department), Emmanuel Ijelaba (Environmental Department), Paul Showboy Tanto (Port Management Department) and Freedom Pori (Port Management Department).
The Concerned Gbaramatu Students congratulated the PAP Boss Dr. Otuaro, who turned plus one on Monday, on his well-deserved appointment as the Administrator of the PAP and also revealed that the "perseverance and unwavering determination" demonstrated by the Dr. Otuaro is an inspiration to them.
The students promised to not abuse the privilege of beneficiary to the PAP scholarship scheme if their request is granted, but will rather dedicate all their efforts to make the Administrator proud as they passionately pursue their studies.
Below is a reproduced copy of the open letter which reads:
"Dear High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, we, the Concerned Gbaramatu Students in the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, extend our heartfelt congratulations to you on your achievement via appointment to the Office of Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta (OSAPND) and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP.
"Such a national appointment gives us great joy as we acknowledge your commitment, dedication and hard work, which have led to this remarkable milestone. Your perseverance and unwavering determination over the years as a grassroots leader have clearly paid off, and it is truly inspiring to witness your laudable success at such a short space in time in the Office of the Administrator of the PAP.
"High Chief, we the Concerned Gbaramatu Students in the NMU hereby use this medium to express our utmost admiration as well as congratulate you on your achievements, which are a proof that hard work, perseverance and a positive mindset can lead to extraordinary outcome, a great lesson and motivation for us.
"We the Concerned Gbaramatu Students in the NMU also use this opportunity to write in hopes that you will use your good office to extend your generosity to the Gbaramatu students here in NMU to become part of the beneficiaries of the PAP scheme. We are delighted to know that the PAP is willing to offer interventions (educational assistance) which will be beneficial to all of us who are struggling financially to meet up with our studies.
"High Chief, we assure your good office that this appeal for educational assistance we are soliciting for, if granted, will not be wasted, but will be applied to good use as we give a guarantee of our seriousness with our studies and career, and sooner to become the passionate educators in our society. We are hopeful and believe that this interventions will cover our academic expenses while studying in NMU.
"Thank you so much for your time and in anticipation to granting our appeal of financial assistance for the Concerned Gbaramatu Students in the NMU. May Tamarau bless you in all your endeavors in life (Ise)," the letter concludes.
