Imeleye Wilson Omimi, who was laid to eternal rest in Benikrukru Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, on Friday, June 19, 2026, we look at the early life of the spiritual leader, spanning his educational and career path, and what transpired that led him into ministry. Late Snr. Boan. Imeleye Wilson Omimi, Founder of Teme-ama Foundation Zion Ministry (TFZM), was born into a family with strong entrepreneurial values. His father was a successful businessman who specialized in the timber trade, transporting timber from the riverine areas of Delta and Bayellsa states to Lagos for commercial distribution. Due to the nature of his business, his father spent most of his time in different places which eventually made the family to move from place to place. As a result, he spent his formative years in Lagos and Ondo State, where he received his early education.
He completed his primary education in Gbokoda Primary School, Gbokoda, Ondo State between 1963 to 1969 and obtained his first school-leaving certificate. He there after went to Benin City for his secondary school education in Institute of Continued Education, Benin City, between 1969 to 1974, acquiring his West African School Certificate, which offered him the academic foundation and life experiences that would later contribute to his personal and professional development. Growing up in the vibrant and cosmopolitan environment exposed him to diverse ideas and opportunities, helping to shape his character and outlook on life.
Driven by a strong determination to become a disciplined, responsible and accomplished young man, as well as a deep desire to advance his education and broaden his horizons, Late Snr. Boan. Imeleye Wilson Omimi embarked on an important educational journey abroad in 1976. He traveled to Greece, where he gained admission into the prestigious Daedalus College of Aeronautical and Petroleum Engineering located in Athens, Greece.
At the institution, he pursued studies in aeronautics and petroleum engineering, two highly specialized and demanding fields that required dedication, intellectual rigor, and technical competence. Throughout his years of study, he demonstrated remarkable commitment to academic excellence, acquiring both theoretical knowledge and practical insights in engineering and related technological disciplines. His educational experience in Greece not only equipped him with professional skills and expertise, but also exposed him to diverse cultures, global perspectives, and advanced technological development of the period. These experiences contributed significantly to his personal growth, broadened his world view, and strengthened his capacity to contribute meaningfully to society.
After four years of intensive study and training, the Late Snr. Boan. Imeleye Wilson Omimi successfully completed his program in 1980, marking a significant milestone in his academic and professional developments. His achievement reflected his perseverance, vision, and unwavering commitment to self-improvement, qualities that would continue to define his life and legacy in the years that followed. His educational journey, combined with his exposure to business from an early age and his international experience, played a significant role in making him a disciplined, enterprising, and forward-thinking individual.
Upon his return from abroad, Late Snr. Boan. Imeleye Wilson Omimi embarked on a career in education, dedicating himself to shaping young minds through teaching. His first appointment was at Isaba Grammar School, Isaba, from 1980 to 1983, where he quickly distinguished himself as an exceptional and committed teacher. Known for his diligence, passion for learning, and concern for the moral and intellectual development of his students, he earned the respect and admiration of both colleagues and pupils.
During his tenure at Isaba Grammar School, a significant spiritual experience occurred that would profoundly alter the course of his life. While engaged in his teaching duties one day, he experienced what he later understood to be a divine calling. Compelled by a deep spiritual conviction, he left for the forests of Isaba, where he spent three days and three nights in prayer, meditation and communion with God, without food or water.
This unusual event drew considerable attention within the community. Many people, unable to comprehend the nature of his spiritual encounter, misunderstood his actions and regarded them with skepticism, leading to various criticisms and misconceptions about his state of mind. However, this period of spiritual retreat marked the beginning of a new phase in his life's journey.
Following the experience, he resumed his educational duties in the same 1983, where he was transferred to Obotebe Grammar School, Obotebe. He was there till 1984 and was transferred to Sokebolou Primary School, where he continued to serve faithfully as a teacher. While at Sokebolou, he remained committed to both academic excellence until he left his teaching duties in 1986.
Subsequently, Late Snr. Boan. Imeleye Wilson returned to Benikrukru Community, where he spent a brief period after completing his previous engagements. In 1998, he secured gainful employment with Weco Construction and Engineering Company Limited, a reputable engineering and construction firm, where he was appointed as a foreman. In this capacity, he supervised construction activities, coordinated workers on project sites, ensured adherence to operational standards, and contributed significantly to the successful execution of various engineering projects.
Through diligence, leadership, and a strong work ethic, he earned the respect of both his colleagues and superiors. He remained in the service of the company from 1998 until 2000, when his employment contract reached its expiration. His tenure at Weco Construction and Engineering Company later further enriched his professional experience and reinforced his reputation as a dedicated and competent worker within his community and beyond.
Eventually, the conviction of his divine calling became undeniable and he responded by leaving his professional career to enter full-time ministry. This transition marked the commencement of a life-long dedication to the work of God, a path through which he would go on to impact countless lives and establish a lasting spiritual legacy.
