GPD2024: Bishop Soroaye Storms Gbaramatu for Wind of Revival, Drops 6 Powerful Nuggets
Bishop Dr. Godwyns Soroaye (JP) was among guests of ministers that stormed the grand finale of the 6th edition of the Gbaramatu Prayer Day 2024, an annual prayer programme organised by the Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF) under the chairmanship of Pst. Samuel T. Ukuli and vice chairman Apst. Mathias Amaye Zion.
Held in Oporoza community, headquarters of the riverine Kingdom, the three-day programme which has as its theme 'Wind of Revival' began on Friday, October 11 with rally, seminars, and crusades, was wrapped up on Sunday, October 13, with thanksgiving.
The Bishop who was accompanied in his entourage by Archbishop Dr. Dickson Dollar, Pst. Dr. Barr. Nanapere Exodus, Pastor Peretei Okoro, Evangelist Tare Paymaster, Evangelist Celelo, Pastor Braye Erete, Evangelist Timmy Lucky, Pastor Gift Iteli, among other ministers gave a sermon on the essence of revival, with a call on the people of Gbaramatu to embrace the gospel, promote the things of God, be more focused and dedicated.
Below are six powerful takeaways from the sermon delivered by the outspoken Bishop on the grand finale on Sunday:
1️⃣ REVIVAL RENEWS FOCUS ON GOD: Revival is a renewed attention given to the church; it is developing interest in the gospel.. a very high emotional evangelical movement coming to the believer to restore the force and validate the power of God.
2️⃣ REVIVAL BRINGS ABOUT SPIRITUAL REBIRTH: When revival comes it causes rebirth, regeneration; it rejuvenates, renews, resurrects, resuscitates, and revitalise.
3️⃣ REVIVAL FUELS PASSION FOR GOD: Revival increases the prayer life of the people and there is heartfelt repentance and confession. (Acts 2:37-38). It causes spiritual hunger and thirst (Acts 2:42).
4️⃣ REVIVAL BIRTHS UNITY: Revival gives birth to unity; when we are united we will see great revival, we will experience miraculous conversions and transformation of lives.
5️⃣ NO COMPETITION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST: To retain revival we must not compete; there's no need for competition. Churches must not compete with each other; pastors should not compete with each other. Rather they should complement each other.
6️⃣ CALLED TO BE PECULIAR, NOT POPULAR: There is no fighting to be famous, but rather we should fight to be faithful. We are not called to be popular, but we are called to be peculiar.
Lastly, the Bishop reminded the people that the type of revival ongoing at the Gbaramatu Prayer Day is a regional revival, which places focus on the winning of souls in, and promoting the work of God in Gbaramatu Kingdom while advancing the Heavenly Kingdom of God.
