PAP: LCU masters graduates appreciate Otuaro, call on FG for expansion of programme
A group of masters graduates from the Lead City University, LCU, Ibadan, Oyo State, has hailed the Federal Government sponsored Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, under the leadership of its Administrator, High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for its "transformative initiative" through education, vocational training, and economic empowerment, which they said has brought "a glimmer of hope and prosperity" to the once neglected Niger Delta region.
This was contained in an appreciation message from the LCU masters graduates who are beneficiaries of the PAP, and that was signed by its representative, Onome Peace Avurakoghene.
The group in their appreciation message described the PAP as a light to the neglected region for rewriting a new chapter for the region that was formerly marred by conflicts, underdevelopment, and pollution.
Part of the message reads, "The Niger Delta, for decades, was a land of untold struggles—a region rich in resources, but marred by neglect, deprivation, and conflict. Our rivers, once symbols of abundance, became stages for turmoil. Our youths, the lifeblood of our future, were forced to navigate the harsh realities of underdevelopment, environmental degradation, and a lack of opportunities.
"But today, a new chapter is being written—a chapter illuminated by the Presidential Amnesty Programme. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the Federal Government for this transformative initiative that has brought a glimmer of hope and prosperity to a region long in the shadows.
"The amnesty programme has not only been a call to peace but a lifeline that has empowered thousands of Niger Delta youths through education, vocational training, and economic empowerment. It has bridged the gap between despair and opportunity, creating pathways for our people to reclaim their dignity and play an active role in nation-building, and this, we the graduates (master graduates) from Lead City University has benefited from."
The LCU masters graduates thanked the Amnesty Boss Otuaro and the FG for the transformative initiative while they also called on the latter to expand the PAP for more opportunities, stressing further that the programme should also serve as a model for addressing imbalance and disunity in the country.
"We wish to use this medium to appreciate our leaders, both past and present, most especially our Ibe-Uyadonwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, the current administrator, our father and a mentor to this generation, a shoulder on which we ride on, our patron, in the name of Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro (PhD), for his great leadership and concern.
"We also use this medium to call on the Federal Government and stakeholders to not only sustain but expand the reach of this programme and create more opportunities. Let it serve as a model for addressing regional disparities and fostering unity in diversity.
"The Presidential Amnesty Programme is not just a policy; it is proof that when leaders listen to the heartbeat of the people, great things can be achieved.
"Thank you for shining this light on the Niger Delta and, by extension, on the entire nation. Together, we march forward in strength and solidarity."
