GYC 2024: Support Group Canvasses for Egbejule as Youth President

updated 16 Feb, 2024

An assembly of youths in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, under the aegis of Concerned Gbaramatu Youths, have thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Mr. Egbejule Kingsley, a youth aspirant vying for the position of president in the umbrella body of Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide.

The Concerned Gbarmatu Youths group made their position known in a statement that was signed and released by its coordinator, Tamaramiyenmene Oturubo.

According to the statement, the GYC presidential aspirant in the person of Mr. Egbejule has proved himself in leadership positions through his untiring services to the growth and development of the kingdom, and even as a member of several committees.

The group maintained that Mr. Egbejule as chairman of the Gbaramatu Educational Support Forum, GESUF—a forum that pushes for the advancement of education in the riverine kingdom—has contributed his part towards shaping the educational sector especially through his drive for the mobilization of corps members from the National Youth Service Scheme, NYSC, to address the shortfall of government teachers that are posted to the schools in the riverine area.

They therefore appealed to Gbaramatu youths to rally behind the GYC presidential aspirant Mr. Egbejule to give him all the needed support as the aspirant can be trusted to deliver on his mandate if elected as president of GYC.

The full statement reads:

"The hallmark of leadership is a call to service and the negligence of service in leadership will lead to organizations not fulfilling their objectives or not reaching set out goals.

"It is on the above premise that we stand and strongly believe in the candidacy of Mr. Kingsley Arerebo Egbejule for him to be elected as President, Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC), in the forthcoming GYC election.

"Mr. Kingsley is a proactive and committed steward, one of the youths in Gbaramatu that has never failed to contribute his little quota to the overall development of our dear Kingdom, through his visionary fortitude.

"Through the help of his leadership in our kingdom, youth corp members are now deployed to schools in our Kingdom; he has been working round the clock to ensure that some level of injustices perpetrated as a means of deception against Gbaramatu communities, are being corrected.

"Mr. Kingsley has served in several sub-committees in our kingdom as the tireless committed steward that he his. He has proven and shown that he has  the capacity and sagacity to lead GYC to an enviable height.

"Of course he cannot do this all by himself, he needs our support as Gbaramatu Youths to achieve this, that is why we are appealing for your support and trust in the forthcoming GYC elections.

"Thanks for your much anticipated support in advance. Together we can  build the GYC of our dream," the statement added.
