GYC 2024: Daniel Osuokoro Declares for President, says Youth Council Need Capable Hands

updated 15 Feb, 2024

The race for the top position of president in the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide, the umbrella body of youths in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has gotten more intense with a latest contender, Comr. Daniel Osuokoro, popularly known as Otolu recently joining the contest for the number one seat in the youth body.

Comr. Osuokoro who made known his interest to vie for the top leadership position on Valentine's Day revealed that the need to offer his wealth of experience is the driving force behind his ambition to contest for youth president in the council.

According to the presidential aspirant, he is more than capable to lead the youth body going by his wealth of experience in grassroots leadership that is needed to gove the right push to the youth body.

In his words: "I'm vying for the presidential position of the GYC in the forthcoming election, and the reason is because I felt that the GYC body needs a capable hand, which is me, to pilot the affairs of Gbaramatu Kingdom concerning youth matters.

''I was born and brought up in Gbaramatu kingdom. As a grassroot person I know the areas we are lacking in. I can be able to meet with our fathers, mothers and tell them our pains and needs in order to tackle the challenges from a good angle.

"I want to be the driving force of the youths; I have the ability, force, and ideas to bring the youths and leaders together to put our challenges to an end," he added.

Speaking further Comr. Osuokoro said, "There're some reasonable developments I felt that we need to put in place for the benefits of the youths. For instance, if you look critically well, Gbaramatu Kingdom as a whole cannot boast of good healthcare, well equipped secondary school. And these are affecting our younger ones who are tomorrow's leaders.

"If you come to the issue of security, I'm not new to it, and I also have many years of experience with government parastatals. I will metamorphose the ideas and experience not only focusing on our multinational companies in our kingdom but create job opportunities for the unemployed," he assured.

The GYC presdential aspirant appealed to the youths to not miss the golden opportunity his candidacy offered in the forthcoming GYC election, promising that he will tackle the issues affecting the youths headon.

"If I'm given the opportunity to pilot the affairs of the GYC, I will bring all of these to the table and tackle them from a strategic angle because I'm capable to deliver with effective representation at any level. If I'm given this opportunity, I will address so many things concerning the youths, and at the end of the day I believe we will succeed in many areas," he reassured.
