CONDOLENCE VISITS: Gbaramatu Traditional Council sympathises with Clark, Otuaro

The Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs from the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State has sympathised with the family of the late elder statesman, Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR CON, and those of late Madam Pinapina Otuaro, the mother of a former deputy governor of the State, His Excellency, Dcn. (Barr.) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro.

The Gbaramatu Traditional Council expressed their sympathy during a condolence visit to Kiagbodo Town, the home country of late Chief Clark; and to the Mosheshe Estate residence of Dcn. Otuaro in Effurun, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

The condolence visit, led by the Tonwei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief (Dr.) Nelson Ogelegbanwei JP, urged the bereaved families of Chief Clark and Mama Otuaro to take solace in the legacies achieved by the departed icons who lived rich lives while on Earth.

At Kiagbodo, the Wenewei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Matthew Pudie, registered the presence of the traditional council with the signing of the Condolence Register.

The traditional council praised the late elder statesman and convener of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) for showcasing exemplary leadership and for using his voice to speak for the voiceless in the Niger Delta region and for other parts of the country at large.

They prayed God Almighty to grant the golden soul of Chief Clark a peaceful rest, and to strengthen the family, the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large to bear the irreparable loss of his demise.

At the residence of the former deputy governor, Dcn. Otuaro, the traditional council condoled with their son and the entire Otuaro family over the departure of late Mama Pinapina, describing her as a mother with a golden heart.

They promised to stand by the Otuaro family and pledged to play the role expected of them in ensuring that the late Mama Pinapina is duly honoured with a befitting burial rite.

Felix Eguare, Chief Wilson Igere, Chief (Hon.) Shola Gbofeyin, Chief (Hon.) Friday Bobo, Chief (Mrs) Marian Anumougharan, Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Ukulor, and Chief (Mrs) Eyenkeden Ogelegbanwei.

Other highlights of the condolence visits include entertainment and group photograph session by the members of the council.

Recall that, while the late elder statesman, Chief Clark, passed away in his Abuja residence at the age of 97 years on February 17, 2025, the late Madam Pinapina passed away at the age of 87 years on February 12, 2025.
