The Ondo State Youth Forum has declared its support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise youths and communities across the state in support of the Tompolo Door-to-Door Campaign

The group made its position known during a press briefing convened by High Chief Sylvester Ayebi Sofiyegha, Head of the Ondo State Liaison Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, that held at the PAP Ondo Liaison Office in Agadagba, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Speaking under the theme, "Our Vote, Our Future: Why Ondo State Youths Must Rally Behind Tompolo for Tinubu's Second Term Come 2027," the Forum said its decision followed an assessment of the Federal Government's policies and interventions in the Niger Delta as well as the need to sustain peace, youth empowerment and development in the region.

The youths particularly reaffirmed their allegiance to Niger Delta leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, and pledged to support his grassroots mobilisation drive for Tinubu's second-term bid, stating that, "For us, our position is very clear. We therefore use this medium to call on all well-meaning sons and daughters of Ondo State to support the reelection and continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 2027 general election approaches."

According to the group, the Tinubu administration's reforms and projects in areas such as local government autonomy, infrastructure, education, energy, taxation, investment and youth empowerment provide grounds for continuity beyond 2027, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), minimum wage increase, foreign exchange and tax reforms, as well as interventions in the oil, power and energy sectors among initiatives it believes should be consolidated.

The Forum argued that Nigeria's political discourse should increasingly focus on development rather than ethnic, religious or sectional considerations, maintaining that the electorate should assess the administration on its policies and programmes, while also highlighting the Presidential Amnesty Programme under its Administrator, High Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, describing initiatives in education, human-capital development, empowerment and peacebuilding as critical areas where the programme has impacted Niger Delta youths.

According to the Forum, thousands of young people from the region are currently benefiting from PAP educational opportunities in tertiary institutions within Nigeria, while hundreds have also been deployed for studies overseas.

"Behind every scholarship is a young person whose future is being transformed; behind every graduate is a family whose hope has been renewed; and behind every trained youth is a potential professional who will also contribute to the development of his or her community," the group stated.

The Ondo State Youth Forum commended Otuaro for what it described as his commitment to education and empowerment, as well as efforts to ensure that communities across the Niger Delta benefit from opportunities provided by the Amnesty Programme.

The Forum equally praised the appointment of High Chief Sofiyegha as Head of the PAP Ondo State Liaison Office, saying the office has provided a platform for engagement among beneficiaries, youth leaders, community stakeholders and residents of the state.

Turning to the oil and gas sector, the group acknowledged the Federal Government's engagement of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in the protection of critical oil infrastructure,  and credited Tompolo's leadership with contributing to efforts against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism while creating employment opportunities for Niger Delta youths.

The group said indigenous participation in the protection of critical national assets is important, arguing that young people in oil-producing communities should have legitimate opportunities to participate in activities connected to the development and security of their region.

The Forum further commended Tompolo for initiating the Door-to-Door Campaign as a mobilisation effort and avenue to take the message of Tinubu's reelection to the grassroots, as well as acknowledged interventions by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in roads, bridges, electricity, water supply and other infrastructure across the oil-producing region, noting that communities in Ondo State's southern senatorial district have benefited from various interventions.

According to the youths, the Niger Delta requires sustained attention in the areas of peace, education, employment, infrastructure and empowerment, stressing that, "The Niger Delta needs peace. It needs education. It needs employment. It needs infrastructure. It needs empowerment. Above all, it needs the attention of the Federal Government. That is why we believe that continuity matters, and the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is sacrosanct," the Forum declared.

The Forum called on youths in Ese-Odo, Ilaje, Irele, Okitipupa, Odigbo, Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and other parts of Ondo State to participate actively in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections, and pledged to carry its mobilisation "Door to Door, community to community, and household to household," while engaging residents peacefully and encouraging young people to assess the administration's record before making their electoral choices.

"As we begin this mobilisation, let it be known that Ondo youths are not standing on the sidelines. We are taking our future into our own hands. Our vote is our voice. Our vote is our power. Our vote is our future," the group stated, while adopting the slogans: "Our Vote, Our Future," "Tompolo for the People," and “Tinubu for Continuity.”
