This was made known by the outgoing President of the AGFG, Barr. Iyoroebi Itima Kenge, at the conclusion of the election of the new exco members, in Warri, on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Divine Zibimoghan (Secretary), Oyeyemi Christabel (Treasurer), Susan Ukuli (Financial Secretary), Dekawei Vera (Public Relations Officer), and Popo Christabel Peres (Welfare Director).

A four-member electoral committee (Eleco) that oversaw the voting process are Amrophe Pere Lovely (chairwoman), Eni Itima (secretary), Dcns. Endurance Bamidele (member) and Ebi Edi (member).

Describing the election as transparent, free and fair, the Eleco chairwoman, Lovely, disclosed that in all, seven contestants participated in the process.

"The election was free and fair because we tagged it with accountability and transparency. So, it was free and fair. Everybody saw how we counted the votes.

"In total, there are seven contestants, three aspiring for the position of the president and then we have the treasurer, the secretary, which were not opposed. And then we have the P.R.O, unopposed," she added.

On her message to the incoming exco, she charged them to be visionaries, and that the essence of the contest, which was the first of its kind, was to get the best brain to led the association with propelling ideas.

"They should have vision, direction, and then work. Transparency matters a lot. Accountability matters a lot. It's not just to say, but working it out, with all diligence.

"Actually, this is first of its kind. It has never happened. Gbaramatu Female Graduates have been in place, but this is first of its kind. That is why we are strategizing on this procedure. Now, take a look at it. You can't just aspire for something, then after so much campaign you sit back and be relaxed, and then not doing anything. This is an avenue for you to have that pain at heart, for you to give back to the society. Like they say, when you educate the girl child, you educate the nation.

"So for the incoming, what I will tell them is, please, what should matter to you is the voice. Make sure your voice is loud. Talking about the voice, you don't have to shout. Your workings should speak that this is a graduate from Gbaramatu Kingdom. By then, you are promoting the cultural heritage of the great kingdom, Gbaramatu," she added.
