WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: Otuaro lauds Tinubu, Stakeholders
A former deputy governor of Delta State, Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely intervention which has helped to douse rising tensions in the Warri Federal Constituency over issues "surrounding the ward and polling unit delineation exercise" in the Constituency.
In an appreciation message shared on his official Facebook on Friday, June 12, the former deputy governor hailed the President's move as a demonstration of his commitment to peace stability in the Niger Delta region.
"I sincerely commend and appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his timely and responsive intervention in the issues surrounding the ward and polling unit delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency.
"The President's decision to personally engage leaders of the Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities demonstrates true statesmanship, commitment to justice, and dedication to the peace, unity, and stability of our dear nation," he wrote.
Otuaro also commended the governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders for seeking a peaceful resolution of the dispute through dialogue.
He further charged all stakeholders in the Warri Federal Constituency to stay committed and to join hands together to build a better future.
"I also extend profound appreciation to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and all stakeholders who have embraced dialogue as the pathway to resolving differences. Dialogue remains the most effective weapon for restoring peace, strengthening mutual understanding, and eliminating unhealthy intrigues and insinuations in our political system.
"As we move forward, I urge all parties to remain committed to peaceful engagement, respect for the rule of law, and the collective interest of the people of Warri Federal Constituency. Together, we can build a future founded on harmony, equity, and sustainable development."
Recall that the indigenous ethnic nationalities of Ijaw and Urhobo had alleged interference by the Presidency in the delayed implementation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fresh wards delineation report of May 20, 2026, leading to the shutdown of flow stations in the Constituency.
Meanwhile, the INEC, through its National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, said the Commission has completed the delineation exercise and awaits only the right conditions to proceed with once ongoing negotiations and compromises among affected communities are concluded. He also dismissed suggestions that the Presidency influenced its delayed implementation of the ward delineation report.
