The ceremony, which was officiated by the Anglican Church as led by Reverend V. Ogedengbe, was conducted in the Yins Hotel extension along Apala Road in Warri, Delta State.
The late Madam Snow-White, popularly referred to by her nickname, Highkilloo, departed the Earth after a brief illness on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and hails from both Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West, and Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu LGA, all in Delta State.
The ceremony which featured the singing of hymns, Bible readings, presentation of biography of the deceased, prayer for the family, and a brief sermon, was wrapped up with testimonials from the family members and friends.
Paying tribute to her departed sister, a member of the family, Chief Mrs. Christy Adamu, described the deceased who is her elder sister as a friend, a classmate, and one that always listens.
"I lost an elder sister, a friend, a classmate, a woman with the heart of gold. I am short of words, but thank God for the beautiful moments we shared together. Whenever I called her, she answered me. And whenever she called me, I always answered her. I miss you, my love. I know you are in a better place," she remarked.
Another of her sister, Mamukemi, praised the departed Highkilloo for coming through for most of the family members and for playing the role of a counsellor that helped sustained a lot of marriages. She also recalled her late sister's remarkable traits of being a good listener and as someone who is always willing to see others happy.
The atmosphere began to get more emotional when a little niece of hers mounted the podium and said, "Sister Highkillo, I miss you so much. Since when you were in my life you dashed me money. I do not believe in your death. I miss you so much. May your soul rest in peace in Jesus name, Amen."
A family member, Engr. Peter Ekpetipu, in his tribute charged others to remain calm with the assurance that the late Snow-White has gone to rest having done her best and given so much due to her simplicity, which oftentimes so many people took for granted.
While some spoke in tears and some amidst sobs, they all narrated what made the deceased so special to them as they described her as possessing the traits of understanding, patience, love, discipline, determined, bold, among others.
The remains of the late Snow-White will be conveyed from the Safe Haven Mortuary at Okumagba Avenue in Warri to her hometown, Kokodiagbene community, for internment on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
