BIOGRAPHY: Adieu to a dear brother, leader, politician, Late Dcn. Shedrack Ayama Tangbe
In an atmosphere of sadness, the body of late Deacon Shedrack Ayama Tangbe was committed to Mother Earth after a Christian funeral service by the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) in Oporoza Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Friday, May 14, 2026.
According to his biography, the Late Dcn. Tangbe who passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 57 years, was born into the noble families of Chief Emmanuel Oguma Tangbe of Kenebra Quarters, and Mrs. Misis Oguma Tangbe (née Agbunase) of Ikirentimi Quarters (both of blessed memory) in Oporoza Town, Gbaramatu Kingdom.

He obtained his First School-leaving Certificate in 1985 from Fiyewei Primary School, Oporoza, and later proceeded to Step Forward Secondary School, Warri, where he had his Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in 1992. Driven by his passion for education and self-development, he furthered his studies at Delta State University, Abraka, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree (B.A. in Business Administration). In addition, he acquired formal training in computer literacy and obtained several certificates of competency.
On his social and political life, late Dcn. Tangbe was a quiet, intelligent and fast-thinking individual. He was a grassroots politician from the Oporoza Ward axis who played significant roles in shaping political leadership within his community, local government and the state at large. He remained actively involved in politics from 1999 until his passing, and contributed immensely to the emergence of several leaders into public office.
He served as the Supervisory Counselor for Education under the Caretaker Committee of Warri South-West Local Government Area, led by Rev. Ken Kenanagha. He further served as a Special Assistant to the former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, where he worked collaboratively with other leaders to achieve meaningful development results, and also served as chairman in Oporoza Ward.

Known for his firm principle, Shedrack was a man who stood by his words and beliefs, yet embraced unity and collective agreement when necessary. His contributions to politics and community development will be greatly missed. Aside from politics, he was also involved in underwater engineering consultancy, working along the coastal regions of Delta and River states.
In search of greener pastures, the late Shedrack, alongside his friend, late Philip Oyibo German (of blessed memory), journeyed to Port Harcourt in River State. While there he found love and entered into his first marriage, which was blessed with two children. Sadly, tragedy struck when his wife passed away during childbirth. A few years later, he also lost his first son, leaving behind painful memories that he bore with strength and resilience. In 2024, he found love again and entered into matrimony with Mrs. Glory Igare of the Igare family of Okerenkoko Town. Their union was blessed with a baby girl who remains his only surviving child.

On his religious life, the late Dcn. Shedrack was a devoted and committed Christian. He worshipped faithfully at Living Faith Church (Winner's Chapel), Jakpa Road Branch. He was an active church member. He served diligently in the Traffic Control Unit, contributing to the smooth coordination of church activities.
Late Shedrack lived a life of purpose, dedication, and service to humanity. He was a man of integrity, courage, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs. He will be deeply missed by his family, siblings, friends, political associates, and all who knew him.
