FRAUD: Guwor Family Warns Public Against Fake Burial Fund Solicitation
The family of late High Chief Council Guwor, the Olotu of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, has dissociated itself from a Facebook post soliciting financial support from the general public for his burial programmes.
In a public disclaimer issued by the Burial Committee on behalf of the family, the Guwor family said its attention was drawn to the online post purportedly seeking donations for the burial of their late father, brother, and leader.
The family stated categorically that it did not authorize, approve, or endorse any such solicitation, whether by any person, group, or social media account.
"The family wishes to state categorically that it did not authorize, approve, or endorse any such solicitation, whether by any person, group, or social media account," the Committee stated.
Members of the public were therefore advised to be careful and to refrain from making any financial contribution to any person or group in the name of the burial of late High Chief Council Guwor.
The family added that at the appropriate time, friends and well-wishers of the Guwor family may be duly notified for such support, if deemed necessary, through approved and official channels.
"The public is hereby advised to be guided accordingly, and disregard any contrary publication soliciting funds," the Committee counseled.
