Cristiano, as of August 2024, is the most-followed sports personality on X with 113 million followers, superceded by Elon Musk, the owner of X, who is the most-followed person with 195.8 million and former United States of America President, Barack Obama, the most-followed politician with 131.8 million. Other most-followed on X are Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, the most-followed musician with 110.3 million and Barbadian singer, Rihanna, the most-followed woman with 108.2 million.

Ronaldo was already the most followed person on Instagram, with more than 639 million followers. His followers on Facebook stands at 170.5 million while on YouTube, at 60.6 million, and is now at the top of the overall following charts as well.

He recently scored his record 900th career goal in Portugal's 2-1 UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Nations League victory against Croatia on Thursday (September 5, 2024) making him the first player ever to achieve such a feat in football history.
