The Priestess who passed away at the age of 93 years (1932–2025) hails from the families of late Pa. Akoto Ekpesin of Ugeh Quarter in Kokodiagbene and the Danumughan of Okiri Quarter in Okerenkoko, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The late Priestess is survived by two children (Etuemi and Felix Paul), 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, was described as a compassionate mother who held everyone dear as her children.

While the late Priestess is adjudge by some persons that she lived a long life, however the pain of losing a loved one could not compensate her children and relatives over her loss.

In describing the loss of their late mother, in a collective tribute, her children wrote, "A mother's love is immeasurable and shapes us in profound ways. As we pay tribute to our mother  today, it is important to celebrate and recognise the unique qualities and qualities she brought into our lives.

"Mothers have a special place in our hearts. They are the ones who nurture us from the moment we are born, providing us with unconditional love and support. Their love is like a warm embrace that wraps us, making us feel safe and protected. It is a love that knows no bounds, transcending time and distance.

"Our mother had a remarkable ability to spread love and kindness wherever she went. Whether it was through her selflessness, generosity, or compassion, these qualities made her truly special. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued and loved, and her presence brightened up any room she entered.

"Let us take a moment to celebrate and honour her incredible spirit. Her love was not limited to her own children, but extended to all those she encountered. She had a heart that was open and welcoming, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Her acts of kindness were like ripples in a pond, spreading love and positivity to all who crossed her path," the tribute ended.

The ceremony featured cultural dance and musical entertainment in honour of the late Madam Akoto, with music supplied by Prince Smally and his musical band.

May her golden soul continue to rest peacefully (Amen).
