THANKSGIVING: Guwor, Mulade, Ebikeme, Others Honour Late Amb Blessing Gbenekama JP as Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Gives Thanks

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor; the Registrar of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Okerenkoko, Dr. Alfred Mulade; a former commissioner and special adviser on petroleum matters, Chief Barr. Bosin Ebikeme; and woman leader, Chief Vero Emmanuel JP, were among dignitaries that graced the Thanksgiving service in honour of the late Amb. Mrs. Blessing Oghale Gbenekama JP, wife of the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower Gbenekama JP in Azama community on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

The Thanksgiving service which held at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Azama community was officiated by the Vicar Rev'd Canon Zion Ukeje and witnessed prayers for the family of the Fiyewei.

"Her labour has ended today but I thank God for her," said the High Chief during the Thanksgiving service just as he noted that he is tempted to ask God why the tragedy but for the fact that man cannot question God.

The Fiyewei who described the support that he received in the course of the burial of his late wife as "overwhelming" thanked everyone who rallied behind the family in their trying time to strengthen him by their words of encouragement, prayers and financial donation.

High Chief Gbenekama also assured everyone who were still concerned over his wellbeing as regards the loss of his wife to not worry, as he promised that "I won't disappoint you by crying no more or grieve unnecessarily".

Earlier in the day, the Fiyewei, in company of his children and other family members, visited the grave site of late Amb. Blessing to lay flowers.

After the Thanksgiving, the High Chief retired briefly to his residence to receive and entertain guests before departing to the city of Warri.
