TANTITA: Delta Chieftain Tangbowei Hails Tinubu on Renewal of Pipeline Surveillance Contract

updated 18 Oct, 2023

Chairman of the Niger Delta Riverine Oil and Gas Producing Communities Development Forum, High Chief James Tangbowei (JP), has hailed President Bola Tinubu for listening to the voices of reasoning in the latter's recent renewal of the pipeline surveillance contract to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo's Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.

Recall that the Federal Government through the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited had awarded a one-year pipeline surveillance job to Tantita in 2022, but which elapsed in 2023, leading to apprehension in the Niger Delta region as some different groups were for, while others were against the contract renewal.

High Chief Tangbowei, who is the Toimelemowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, thanked President Tinubu for finally dousing the tension in the region by laying to rest the issue of the pipeline surveillance contract renewal.

He said, "I offer my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, for the contract renewal to Tantita, operated by our notable son, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

"The act of the president has shown that he is a listener to the reasonable voices of the masses who have been agitating for the right thing to be done, that is, the contract to be renewed in favour of Tantita.

"I therefore hail the president for standing up to the task of leadership and for not disappointing us, while at the same time I also congratulate our son Tompolo as well as other management staff of the security firm for overcoming the storm," he added.

High Chief Tangbowei also charged staff of Tantita to not let down their guards, but to be vigilant on all sides because the opposition will not relent to sabotage the good efforts of the firm in an attempt to ridicule its germane efforts in ridding the region from oil thieves and their sponsors.
