updated 23 Apr, 2024

The Late Madam Caroline Okuku Gbenewei Nee Zibimoghan, a native of Oporoza Town and Kokodiagbene Town, both in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has been adjudge a candidate of Heaven based on the godly standard she maintained while alive on the Earth.

This was revealed during the testimonies shared by a member of the family, a member of the church she worshipped with, and a neighbour, during a Service of Songs ceremony that was organised in her honor at her Ugboroke residence in Warri, on Monday, April 22, 2024.

The brief ceremony which kicked-off 4:30pm was anchored by members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Ark of Peace Model Parish, the ministry the Late Madam Caroline worshipped until her demise at the age of 70 years.

The ceremony which featured singing of praise and hymns, also had among other religious activities Bible readings of first (John 14:1-7), second (1 Thess. 4:13-18), third (1 Cor. 15:40-58), fourth (Rev. 20:7-15) and fifth (Rev. 20:1-6) respectively delivered by Pst. Samson Abuja, Pst. Murphy Zibimoghan, Mr. Henry Mozimor, Barr. Divine Zibimoghan, and Mr. Daniel Gbenewei (son of the Late Madam Caroline).

Also, a brief sermon by the pastor-in-charge of the RCCG's Ark of Peace Model Parish, Pst. Raphael Ekundina, centered on the need for humans to reflect on the purpose of life which is to serve God and do that which is required by the Creator, as everyone will one day return back to the Creator for judgement as there is a time for everything, citing the Bible book of Ecclesiastes 3, and Hebrews 9:27.

"Mama happens to be a very good neighbour to me," began a neighbour, who is popularly known as Mama Igbunu, amidst tears. "I call her a mother, the one that encouraged us. Mama is that neighbour that will always encourage you to follow the right way."

Among some of the endearing qualities she identified in the Late Madam Caroline are her self discipline and the zeal to serve God, showing passionate care for those around her, and her demonstration of godly examples.

"I thank God for her life, and I know that with all that I see in her, she will make Heaven," added Mama Igbunu convincingly as she wrapped up her testimony.

"Mama is a mother and a sister," said a family member, Mr. Mozimor, when handed the microphone to give his testimony. According to him, the Late Madam Caroline was dear to him as she took him in at a tender age to live with her in Lagos, just as he further described the last part of her life as full of wisdom.

"I pray for her gentle soul to rest in peace. I know my sister is going to make Heaven. And I know it was because of the situation she was in, that was why God took her," explained Mr. Mozimor, and added, "At the last stage, to an extent she cannot move; she was creeping to the kitchen and back, just like that. God doesn't want her to suffer, just like I told her son, 'It is God that took your mother'," he noted.

Other highlights of the ceremony include a prayer for the children and family members of the Late Madam Caroline; the gifting of souvenirs alongside entertainment of guests in attendance.

On Thursday, April 25, the remains of the Late Madam Caroline will leave the Veenell Mortuary by 8:00am to her father's compound in New Jerusalem Zion, Oporoza Town, Gbaramatu Kingdom for the final funeral service and internment.
