NAIJAFFEST: Africa for Peace Games Village to Host EmmaPassions' Naija Fitness Festival April 19
The eight edition of the Naija Fitness Festival, formerly tagged Warri Fitness Festival, is set to hold at the Africa for Peace Games Village at Ugolo near Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Organised by Emmanuel Emesakory, popularly known as EmmaPassions, in collaboration with the Ambassador and Entertainment Manager for the Africa for Peace Games Village, Debekeme Emmanuel, popularly known as MC EmmaRano, the one-day health and fitness programme will witness sporting and health fitness activities for both adults and children.
"The whole essence of this event is to promote and increase health and fitness awareness because where we come from, everybody lives this sedentary life," said EmmaPassions during a press briefing on Monday, April 14, ahead of the programme, adding further that "The main vision of this event is to get people moving as much as they can, to reduce the risk associated with obesity."
The programme, which is free for all participants, will begin 7am to 2pm with DJs to provide music at the background while participants work-out, while safety measures put in place by its sponsors include health personnel on ground and ambulance for cases of emergency.
The organisers revealed that sporting activities include 100m race, sack race, tug of war, wrestling; the strongest man and the strongest woman challenge (with cash prize of N100k for each category) and strongest child challenge (with N50k cash prize), among other indoor games like snooker, table tennis, scrabble.
The General Manager, David Eyesan, urged all Deltans to ba a part of the programme which is free while stressing that the reason behind the Africa for Peace Games Village collaborating with EmmaPassions is "to tell the world that, it is good for one to exercise, to keep fit, to also ensure that they do the needful in order for them to live and stay healthy."
The organisers also revealed that, in order to ease commutation to the venue, three coastal buses each will be stationed at three designated locations, namely: PTI, College of Education Edjeba, and Udu axis, to convey participants to the venue.
Among the guest appearances that will be gracing the eight edition is the current Guinness World Record holder for the "Longest Dance Party", Dr. Kaffy and the Yahweh Queen Fitness from Lagos State, among other fitness brands.
EmmaPassions thanked the Africa for Peace Games Village and other sponsors of the eight edition including Westend Hospital, Safari pharmacy, Westend Hospital (who are providing ambulance and medical personnel), Oriflame Nigeria, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, K&Q Eatery, Safari Waters among others.
The Naija Fitness Festival, which started in. 2016 as Warri Fitness Festival, was rebranded to accommodate a wider audience, according to its founder, EmmaPassions, while revealing plans to host the programme in the future across Nigeria, Africa and other continents.
