updated 19 Aug, 2024

The traditional marriage and Solemnization of Holy Matrimony (wedding) between Mr & Mrs Mark Imoun may mark the beginning of a new journey in the lives of the couple, however it is not to them the starting point of building a home together, as the couple had been in a fruitful relationship for close to two decades, one that has brought forth five children.

"My eldest child, a daughter, is almost 17 years, while the second daughter is 15," pronounced Mr. Imoun in a chat with PENGlobal Social, as he shares his experience with the business and social brand promoter.

Nonetheless the couple feel refreshed as they celebrate the success of their traditional marriage which held in far away Akpata community, Ondo State, on Tuesday, August 13, and finally their wedding and reception in Benikrukru community on Saturday, August 17.

The marriage reception ceremony kicked off with an opening prayer by Bishop Felix Piniki after which the newlyweds made their entry into the venue in beautiful dance steps.

Guests from Ondo State and from neighbouring communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West, as well as from the city of Warri and environs graced the colourful events, some with gifts while others with their presence to add to the glamour of the ceremony on Saturday.

"Don't be in a hurry because you feel that your mate has done theirs so you too want to do yours. My advice to young men and women is that they should be patient. It is by God's grace. They should believe in God, and the God who made it possible for us will make it possible for them too," he prayed.

On the choice of Benikrukru as location for the wedding and reception, Mr. Imoun who is a Manager at Maton Nigeria Limited in Benikrukru, said the choice of the marriage holding in his hometown was influenced by his job as he operates and lives more in the community with his family.

On how the couple both met, he revealed that while his father-in-law hails from Ondo State, his mother-in-law is a native of Benikrukru and was more at home where they both got to know each other overtime.

The reception ceremony, anchored by the popular MC Abioka, witnessed the cutting of the marriage cake by the couple, a dance session by the couple, the presentation of gifts by families, friends and well-wishers to the newlyweds, group photograph session among other activities.
