As part of the celebration of the successful traditional marriage of their beloved sister, Joy Ikpade Powede, to Mr. Monday Akpevwe Oghenebrorhie, the duo of Amb. Uyadonghan Powede, Special Assistant to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Engr. Johnson Powede, vice chairman, PDP Ward 20, Gbaramatu Kingdom, along with other family members hosted guests to a rousing reception party.

The traditional marriage reception party held to the delight of guests at the residence of the S.A. in Okuokoko area of Delta State, on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The reception ceremony was chaired by the President of Ogbinbiri Youth Federation and MD/CEO, OCI Hotels & Suite, Amb. Ojowuro City Eyekoroghawei, who in his opening speech counseled the couples to remain steadfast in their love and to join hands collectively to build their home.

Earlier, Bishop Felix Piniki had declared open the reception ceremony, whose venue was filled to the brim, with prayers before the celebrations kicked off.

Also in attendance are Comr. Pedro Bekenawei (chairman of Kokodiagbene community), Double Chief George Timiyan JP, Chief Felix Eguare, Chief Paul Ukuli, Chief Fezigha Odu, Chief Matthew Nafami, Prince Omoh, Elder Alfred Piniki, Amb. Monday Toruosei, Hon. Jimoih Keniye, Hon. Emmanuel Isede, Mr. Ark Selegha, Mr. Solomon Keniye, Comr. Blessing Laide, among other dignitaries from both Gbaramatu Kingdom and Abraka Kingdom.

On ground to entertain guests is the Izon highlife musician, General Bestmay Jfred and De Giant Stars crew, who thrilled guests in attendance with his supersonic sounds, while MC Abioka the entertainer officiated the ceremony as well as thrill guests.

The celebration witnessed the cutting of the marriage cake, dance by the couple, presentation of gifts, photograph session, among others.

The venue was also ignited when the Powede brothers, Amb. Uyadonghan and Engr. Johnson, graced the floor to showcase their humourous dance skill in company of other women dancers.
