MARRIAGE RECEPTION: Rt. Hon. Pondi, Guwor, Gbaramatu Traditional Council, Others Celebrate the Bubor's
The aftermath of the traditional marriage between the Amadiwei of Makaraba community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Peter Lagos and Mrs. Douebi Bubor, that held in Gbaramatu's Kurutie community on Friday, March 1, 2024, was wrapped up in a colourful reception party at the Warri Ramp (former Shell Ramp) near Enerhen Junction in the commercial city of Warri on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
The handsome and beautiful couple were joined in their celebration of love by the honourable member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi (represented by Comr. Humphrey Oluku); the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; members of the Gbaramatu Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs as led by a former regent of the kingdom, High Chief P. T. Heavens (JP).
Also in attendance are various women groups such as the Top Ladies of Gbaramatu Kingdom as led by its Chairlady, Chief (Mrs.) Ebidoumene Ojogun; Warri Beke Group of Friends as led by its Chairlady, Mrs. Preye Keniye; the United Ladies (Women of Big Doings), the Rainbow Zion Women in Ovwian, the Egwa Ladies.
Among other top dignitaries from Gbaramatu Kingdom are Elder Amos Okoro, Sir Victor Tonlagha, Hon. Jimoh Keniye, Capt. Friday Denkeden (chairman of Kunukunuma Federated community), Mr. Egbejule Kingsley (Gbaramatu Youth Council President and some members of his exco), Pastor Friday Mala, Engr. Richmond Odu, Mrs. Gladys Omare, Comr. Blessing Laide (Kokodiagbene Youth President), Mrs. Lilian Timinimi, Mrs. Loveth Deregbegha, among other dignitaries.
The handsome and beautiful couple who graced the reception venue mid afternoon in their colourful traditional attires danced to the melodic tunes of Prince Smally and his Izon Music Band in company of the massive crowd mostly dominated by the various women group.
While the Spiritual Father of the day, Pastor Mala, opened the celebration with prayers, the chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Pondi represented by Comr. Oluku in his address urged the couple to put God first if they want their union to be sweet and that there is no first class in marriage as couples continue to learn from each other.
Also on ground to coordinate the marriage reception ceremony are the duo MC Abioka (the Fiyei Pere) and MC Collabo, alongside other private entertainers who showcased their talented gifts.
The celebration culminated with the cutting of the marriage cake with the couple taking their turn to feed each other, and finally, a dance by the couple who were appreciated in the process by dignitaries in attendance with cash and other gifts.
