MARRIAGE: From Bayelsa to Delta, Febabor Finds Love in the Garden of Abai
On Saturday, December 9, 2023, the family of Late Mr. Tom Abai who hails from Igoba Town in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, gave out their beautiful daughter, Sis. Bankere Tom Abai, in a traditional marriage ceremony to her suitor Bro. Tomprebopuador Febabor, from the family of Late Mr. Government Febabor, a native of Sagbama Town in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The ceremony kicked off at noon on the arrival of the groom and his family who journeyed all the way from Sagbama to Delta to pluck the beautiful flower that had caught his attention and desired for long desired to keep in his new garden.
The groom, together with his family were entertained by their latest in-laws to be, in the residence of the bride's father, situated off Commissioner road in Ekpan, and as tradition required, they too reciprocated the warm reception that was accorded them on their visit.
Then came the climax of the meeting as the groom and his family proceeded to reveal their purpose if visit and then proceeded to the business of seeking the right to pluck from the precious garden of the Abai dynasty, the flower that had caught their attention and prompted their journey. This affair lasted a couple of hours after the bride's family had taken count of the requirements needed to grant the groom the permission to pluck his desired beautiful flower, including confirming the taste of the palm wine to verify its authenticity.
On the completion of the traditional marriage rites, the golden gate of the garden was thrown open for the groom as the beautiful flower was unveiled. Filled with joy, he quickly plucked the beautiful flower from a branch of the Abai Dynasty on perceiving her sweet fragrance and beholding her beauty which exacerbated the joy of the groom.
What followed next was the celebration of the union by both the bride and the groom's families who entertained guests in attendance with drinks, foods, and musicals.
On arrival in Sagbama, the latest couple will be celebrating their union with a Marriage Thanksgiving on Sunday, 17 December 2023, at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Sagbama Town, with a reception ceremony billed for 12noon at Agbediowei Playground in Sagbama.
Congratulations to the lovely couple as we wish them a fruitful, peaceful and prosperous union in Jesus name, Amen.
