In recognition of a successful commemoration ceremony in honour of the late Father and Hero, the families of the late Sgt. Oweiyegha Rowland Imoun Tonlagha (of blessed memory) along with their friends and other well wishers flocked to the Gate of Heaven Model Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Benikrukru community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, to give the Almighty God thanks on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

It would be recalled that the 28th Remembrance of the late Sgt. Tonlagha, father to Delta billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, held in Benikrukru on Friday, November 8, 2024.

The carnival-like commemoration ceremony which was attended by prominent guests across the shores of Nigeria, including the Governor of Delta, Taraba and Adamawa states, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori (JP), Agbu Kefas and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, respectively, witnessed musical entertainment among other colourful treats.

In recognition of God's protection over guests who attended the ceremony and the atmosphere of peace witnessed at the venue, the Tonlagha Dynasty decided to end the celebration with Thanksgiving as they blessed the name of the Almighty God for making the day's activities a success.

Harping on the theme 'Celebrating God with Thanksgiving' with reference drawn from the Bible Book of Psalms 77:11, the Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Imeleye stressed on the need for humanity to always give thanks to God, not only when they experience blessings, but even when they encounter challenges in life, which is a demonstration of their faith in God.

Also joining the Tonlagha Family in Thanksgiving is the people of Benikrukru community through its leadership as led by the chairman, Comr. Joel Tonjoh, as they thanked God for the peaceful commemoration ceremony.

The Thanksgiving service which was marked with a handsome monetary donation by the Tonlagha Family in appreciation and in jubilation to the glory of God featured the singing of praises, dance, and was wrapped up with prayers for the Tonlagha Family.
