LATE MRS KORIPAMOR JEREMIAH MEETING: One Last Journey Home

The dead has no part in this life, but they must be honoured by the living with a befitting burial rite. And that was the occasion with families and sympathisers of the Late Mrs. Koripamor Jeremiah Meeting (Nee Ogouye) whose remains was conveyed one last time to her hometown, Oporoza community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, for her funeral rite on Friday, October 4, 2024.

The final journey of the deceased began from the Safe Haven Mortuary in Okumagba Avenue, Warri, to Miller Waterfront near the popular Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), where the casket holding her remains was ferried by boat to the coastal community.

On arrival at Oporoza, a Christian Service of Songs was held in her honour by the St. Andrew's Anglican Church officiated by Rev'd Canon Zion Ukeji, Rev. Canon Michael Ihuoma, Rev. Peter Agbogidi, Evang. Meshack Efeaseimene among other ministers.

According to her biography, “the Late Mrs. Koripamor Meeting was born on May 10, 1956. She paternally hails from Etietei Idumu in Ajakurama Town, Ovia South-West L G.A. of Edo State, and from Kenebra Idumu in Oporoza Town, Gbaramatu Kingdom, as well as from the Tuwayerin family in Akidi Idumu, Inikorogha Community, and Ebiabo Idumu, Kokodiagbene Community, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West L.G.A. of Delta State.”

Until her death, late Mrs. Koripamo Meeting was a dedicated member of the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Azama, Gbaramatu Kingdom. She was a staunch member of the women’s guild of the Anglican Church and also a communicant. She took seriously attendance of church programmes and Sunday services as well.

Educationally, the late Mrs. Koripamo Meeting attended Local Authority School, Oporoza, in 1965. She left to Izonburutu in Burutu L.G.A. to live with her brother, but later relocated to Azama community where she met her husband whom she got married to.

The late mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who transited on May 20, 2024 at the age of 68 years after a brief illness, is survived by eight children, 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Late Mrs. Koripamo Meeting is described as a very caring woman, kind hearted, straightforward, humble and peace loving. She is also very friendly and supportive to everyone that comes around her.

“The Late Mrs. Koripamo Meeting will continue to be in our hearts, the church will always miss her. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace until we meet again,” reads her biography on the closing line.

A social wake-keep ceremony followed after the Service of Songs before her interment in the early hours of Saturday. May her soul and those of the departed rest peacefully (Amen).
