updated 31 Aug, 2024

As the casket holding the remains of the Late Mrs. Doris Wariyinrin Fejokwu Nee Ekpetipu, popularly known as The Drama Queen, was carried to the grave site in her father's compound, families and friends struggled to contain their tears as grief overtook many at the interment session, which held in Kokodiagbene community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The final burial rites which held on Thursday, August 30, 2024, was officiated by the Chaplin of the Nigeria Maritime University Chaplaincy, Okerenkoko, Rev. Father Joseph Opuowei, and the Parish Priest of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ogbe-Ijoh, Rev. Father Anthony Nemine.

The parish priest, in his admonition, after prayers for the deceased and the reading of Bible verses and responsorial psalms, reminded guests in attendance that those who died in Christ are not dead, but are alive in Christ.

He further charged those in attendance not to lose hope, but that they should align their lifestyles, now that they are alive, in line with the commandment of God by living a righteous life.

The ceremony also witnessed the offering of Holy Communion to members of the Catholic faith, the collection of offerings, prayers and entertainment.

Many who were familiar with the Drama Queen confessed that they will surely miss her, as her kind is rare. For the most part, she will be remembered for her charity works to the less privilege, her support to families and friends, and playing the role of a counsellor to many, among other positive virtues.

Also, her nickname Drama Queen, is a title that will be difficult for anyone to fill the shoes she walked in, exhibiting a very jovial personal trait such that there was never a dull moment being with her. She was full of life such that her death was dismissed by some who saw it as a prank, but unfortunately, was a reality.

After the interment ceremony at the grave site, family members placed flower wreaths at the grave, amidst sobs.

The late Mrs. Fejokwu, married to Mr. Sammy Fejokwu, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, and the union is blessed with two children: Tobechukwu Fejokwu and Ekenechukwu Fejokwu.

A Thanksgiving Mass will hold at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Okpanam Road in Asaba by the families on Sunday, September 1, 2024, to be followed by a reception ceremony for friends at Government House Squash Club, Asaba, Delta State.

Although her remains had been interred, dust to dust, never to be physically seen again, however, in the hearts and memories of those who knew her, the late Mrs Doris Fejokwu still lives on, and will not be forgotten so soon.
