17 Nov, 2024

The remains of the Late Mrs Beke-ere Pito Nee GM, a native of Okerenkoko and Kokodiagbene communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, was finally laid to eternal rest in Okerenkoko community after a Christian funeral service in her honour, on Friday, November 15, 2024.

The funeral service was officiated by the Minister-in-Charge of Bibopere Zion, Snr. Boan. (Amb.) Peter Ebierede German (JP), with Snr. Boan. Amas Aloro (JP), the Minister-in-Charge of the Crown Church of Zion C&S.

Earlier, the body of the 81-year-old mother, grandmother and great grandmother, arrived in a golden casket at Okerenkoko from the Miller Waterfront near NPA in Warri for the funeral ceremony.

In a procession mode from the Okerenkoko concrete jetty, families and other sympathisers, majority of whom were cladded in white garment outfit, while escorting the casket to the Bibopere Zion, venue of the ceremony, refused to be conquered by sadness as they honour the late golden mother with singing and dancing.

After a brief laying in state at her residence, the casket holding her remains was carried by the pall bearers to the funeral ground, where the atmosphere of celebration of life dominated the ceremony as the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren among other sympathisers sang praises to God.

The funeral service featured singing of praises, Bible readings, presentation of the biography of, and testimonials of the life lived of the deceased with prayers for the children and families of the late Mrs. Beke-ere Pito.

The funeral ceremony climaxed with the interment of the deceased at the grave site besides her residence where family members and other sympathisers paid their last respect.

What followed next was entertainment of guests by the family and a social night party held in honour of the late golden mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The late Mrs Beke-ere Pito is survived by seven children among grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives, and is the beloved mother of the popular Mr. Timi Edende, the Managing Director of Miveth Hotels.
