LATE JENNY ZIPAMONE UKULOR: Financial Fireworks as Tonlagha, Pondi, Guwor, Otuaro, Others Light Up Wake-Keep in Odimodi

It was a night of celebration and financial fireworks at the social wake-keep ceremony of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor (Nee Deribi) in Odimodi Town, Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, which held on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Among those in attendance whose presence ignited financial fireworks are top business and political titans such as the Executive Director of Fenog Nigeria Limited, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha; the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Kestin Pondi; the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; the newly appointed Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, High Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD.

Other top guests in attendance include members of the Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs, members of Odimodi chiefs, members of the Gbaramatu Ibe Gbolei, representatives of various communities in Gbaramatu and Ogulagha Kingdom.

The presence of the Ijaw highlife maestro musician, Dr. Alfred Izon-Ebi popularly known as JKing, added fuel to the atmosphere that ignited the night with dance and jubilation. Also making a guest appearance is the highlife Ijaw musician, King Pius Fezena and his Alabeni Brothers Band of Nigeria.

Asides musical entertainment, other activities that featured to add colour to the celebration of life of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor (Nee Deribi) include traditional dance by various cultural troupes who delivered sizzling performances that attracted financial gifts, and special dance by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the deceased.

Souvenirs from the Ukulor family ranging from wrappers (cloth), bags, to domestic food items such as custard, among others, were given out in appreciation to guests in attendance, as well as drinks and varieties of foods were served out.

Though the social wake-keep ceremony of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor (Nee Deribi) has come and gone, however it will linger on in the thoughts of those who witnessed it and will go down in history as one of the biggest (if not the biggest) ceremony in Odimodi Town.
