LATE AMB. MRS. BLESSING OGHALE GBENEKAMA JP: A Note of Appreciation to Well-wishers by the Burial Planning Committee
On behalf of the Gbenekama Family of Azama, Benikrukru and Okerenkoko communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, the members of the burial planning committee hereby offer our appreciation to the Almighty God for His protection and provisions, and to all well-wishers from across the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large for their emotional, moral, physical, and financial supports before, during and after the burial ceremony of late Amb. Mrs. Blessing Oghale Gbenekama JP, the deceased wife of the Fiyewei of the Kingdom, High Chief Amb. Dr. T.D.A. Godspower Gbenekama JP, that held on Wednesday, June 12, through Sunday, June 16, 2024.
We acknowledged the overwhelming support shown by both the Gbaramatu people and the Ijaws at large, as well as those of other ethnic nationalities. We must also mention here that the show of such goodwill, to a great extent, helped to boost the strength of the bereaved family most especially in letting us know that we are not alone in this trying moment of grief.
To mention all of the names of donors would be an exercise in futility going by the long list, with some of them being anonymous. Nonetheless we appreciate His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe , Agadagba, the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and the Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs, as well as the personality of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Izon Nation.
Our thanks also go to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; the Executive Director of Fenog Nigeria Limited, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha; the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi; the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro; the members representing Warri Federal Constituency and that of Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, respectively; the chairman of Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Amb. Shedrack Agediga; the General Manager of Operations, Technical in TSSNL, Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi among so many others.
We also thank the various communities of Azama, Inikorogha, Benikrukru, Kenyagbene, Opuedebubor, Ikpokpo among others; various Idumu (quarters) such as the Oboro and the Etubo Idumus in Gbaramatu Kingdom; the management of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Okerenkoko, the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) and the kingdom chapter of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide and other groups...
If money could bring back our lovely sister, wife, mother, and in-law, your donations would have. However, as earlier mentioned, your responses on such short notice were a soothing balm on the bereaved families and gave us a sense of encouragement to forge on.
It is our prayers that the Almighty God who sees and notes all of your good works will richly bless you for your show of solidarity as we pray for His mercies, protection, and blessings upon us all.
Words are not enough to express our gratitude, but all the same, we say THANK YOU.
Signed:
HIGH CHIEF MATTHEW EBIFIYEBEBE PUDIE
Chairman, Burial Planning Committee
