FUNERAL: Tears, Sadness as Late Mrs. Faith Joseph Uwale Imeleye nee Tonfawei Laid to Rest
It was a heavy flow of tears and an atmosphere of sadness as the late Mrs. Faith Joseph Uwale Imeleye (Nee Tonfawei) was laid to rest in New Jerusalem Zion, Oporoza community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, after a Christian funeral service that held in her honour on Friday, May 2, 2025.
The remains of the late Mrs. Faith Joseph Uwale Imeleye had earlier been conveyed from the Safe Haven Mortuary at Okumagba Avenue in Warri via a motorcade to the Miller Waterfront near NPA before onward journey to Oporoza for her final funeral rites.
On arrival at New Jerusalem Zion in Oporoza, a brief funeral service held after which her body she was committed to Mother Earth amidst a downpour of tears as families and other sympathisers bid final farewell to a woman and mother who will be remembered for her loving, accommodating, God fearing, and hardworking nature, among other virtues.
According to her brief biography, the late Mrs. Faith Joseph Uwale Imeleye was born on November 11, 1964 to late Mr. and Mrs. Isaren Tonfawei of Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
She grew up as a young girl in Oporoza with her father, mother, and other relatives. Thereafter she moved to Benin to stay with her father's relative for a couple of years before she came back to Oporoza.
On her return, she met her husband, Mr. Joseph Uwale Imeleye, who hails from Benikrukru community. She joined him in the city of Warri. Their marriage was blessed with five children: one boy and four girls, and nine grandchildren.
The late Mrs. Faith Joseph Uwale Imeleye was born into the Holy Cherubim and Seraphim Church. However, she later joined the Living Trust Church in Warri where she practiced her Christian faith. She remained an active member of the Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide (HOREMONW), Sanctuary Unit and Prayer Unit Prison Fellowship Nigeria, of the Living Trust Church and was generally dedicated to the activities of the Church.
She was an easy going woman; a mother who easily forgives, does not discriminate against anyone, loves all, a home builder, hardworking mother, never takes delight in destroying marriages but rather builds and unites. She was a peaceful, loving and caring person.
We shall all forever remember her. Rest in God's Perfect Peace.
