Chairman of Asafama Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Episi Mulade, has countered the move by some stakeholders suspending him as Executive Chairman of the community, insisting that his summon of a general meeting for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, predates the notice of suspension.

Recall that amid a leadership dispute, some elders, leaders of thought and members of the Board of Trustees of Asafama Community announced his suspension and advised companies and organisations against dealing with Mulade in his capacity as chairman.

But according to Mulade, the notice suspending him from office as executive chairman of Asafama that was issued by some stakeholders is not binding on him because his circular calling for a general meeting with community stakeholders had been issued on Thursday, August 20, 2026, as against the notice of suspension that was made public on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

He therefore maintained that the notice he issued to members of the community was done in his capacity as chairman, inviting all sons and daughters of the Nainai Dynasty, Asafama Community, to a general meeting to deliberate on what he described as “very important matters.”

According to him, the meeting is scheduled to hold at Bimos Hotel, Airport Road, beside FCMB Bank, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

“This is to inform, and to officially invite all sons and daughters of (Nainai Dynasty) Asafama Community, that there would be a general meeting for us to discuss some very important matters,” the notice stated.

Accoding to Mulade, "The August 25 general meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for members of the community to deliberate on the unfolding leadership controversy and other matters affecting Asafama." 

Mulade also expressed appreciation to members of Asafama Community for their commitment to its progress.

“Thanks and appreciation to you all for your commitment towards the growth and development of our great community,” he stated.
