updated 30 Aug, 2024

The remains of the Late Mrs. Doris Wariyinrin Fejokwu Nee Ekpetipu, also known as The Drama Queen, was laid to eternal rest after the funeral mass which held in her honour at her father's compound in Kokodiagbene Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

The funeral mass ceremony which featured prayers for the late Doris Fejokwu, Bible readings, responsorial psalms, and a brief sermon, was attended by family members, friends of the family and other sympathisers, in their large numbers.

Below is the tributes written by the husband of the late Drama Queen, Mr. Sammy Fejokwu, wherein he lamented the passing of his dear wife, a loss he described as “too soon” and as such she would be dearly missed.

"Doris, my loving wife and partner, you left me too soon and too suddenly without any room to even fight and your sudden passing has left a gaping hole in my life and that of your boys, the precious fruits of your womb. Though so painful, your memory and legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.

"As a wife, you were my rock, my confidante and my best friend. You were the epitome of love, care, and devotion. Your selfishness and kindness inspired me every day to be a better person and no one knew you better than you.

"As a mother, you were the glue that held our family together. Your unwavering support, guidance and nurturing spirit helped shape our children into the gentlemen they are today. Your influence will continue to shape their lives in the years to come as I assume the roles of both a father and mother, even though I know I may never be able to fill the void you have left, my beautiful wife.

"Doris, you were more than just a pillar of strength; you grew to become the shelter from life’s storms as you had a unique ability to accommodate my weaknesses and excesses, loving me unconditionally and helping me grow.

"Your patience, understanding, and encouragement gave me the courage to pursue my dreams to become the man of your dreams. We had great plans to travel and explore new places after our retirement. What will happen to all those plans now that you have left so suddenly? What happens to your plans of opening a restaurant where you will also cater for the less privileged?

"Though your time with us was cut short, your impact on our lives will never fade. We will miss you dearly, but we take comfort in the memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the love we experienced together.

"Rest in peace, my dear Doris. Your love, legacy and memory will live on in our hearts forever. Your dearest husband, Sammy Fejokwu," he signed off.

On their part, her sons, Tobechukwu Fejokwu and Ekene Fejokwu, wrote: "Today, we gather to honour and remember a remarkable woman-our mother. She was a beacon of beauty and goodness, whose love and care shaped our family in profound ways. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication made her not only a wonderful mother but a cherished friend to many.

"Mom had an extraordinary gift for positively impacting the lives of everyone around her. Her kindness extended beyond our immediate family to friends and extended family, leaving a trial of warmth and joy wherever she went. Her presence was like a spark that ignited our lives, always brightening the darkest days with her boundless energy and zest for life.

"Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains irreplaceable. The void left by her passing is immeasurable, and her absence will be deeply felt every day. Her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire us and remind us of the incredible person she was.

"We will miss her dearly, but we find solace in the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, guiding us and reminding us of the extraordinary women who was our mother. Your beloved children."
