FUNERAL: Late Mrs. Monica Koremonde Idabo Amani (Nee Bobo) Laid to Rest in Igoba [Photos]

The Bobo and the Amani families were joined by other relatives, friends and sympathisers to pay their last respect and to give their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and wife, the Late Mrs. Monica B. Koremonde Idabo Amani (Nee Bobo), a befitting burial on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The burial ceremony which held at Ukpolukpo Quarters in the creek town of Igoba Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, climaxed with the remains of the Late Mrs. Monica Amani being committed to Mother Earth in the early hours of Friday, April 5.

The Late Mrs. Monica Amani died at the age of 90 years after a brief illness and she is survived by a son, Chief William Amani, who is the Amadiwei of Azama Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom; grandchildren, great grandchildren among other relatives.

Earlier on Thursday, the body of the deceased was conveyed from the Ame Specialist Mortuary in Okumagba Avenue in Warri to her paternal hometown hometown Igoba via Miller Waterfront near N.P.A. for lying-in-state and funeral rites.

The funeral service began in the evening with a Christian service conducted by members of God's Mercy Mission Church, Igoba, with ministers Pst. Ayakpo Tebekemi, Evang. Monday Akpan, Rev. Gordon Akpoforayen, Evang. Grace Akpoforayen, Pst. Becky Bobo, Pst. Zion Simon, among others ministering.

The Christian funeral service featured praises, scripture reading, biography presentation and testimonials from family members and friends of the Late Mrs. Monica B. Koremonde Idabo Amani, a brief sermon, and then prayers for the family members of the deceased.

Thereafter, a social wake-keep ceremony commenced. Among notable guests that were in attendance include the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower Gbenekama JP, Chief (Barr.) Bosin Ebikeme, Chief Wellington Bobo, Boan. Preye Teibowei (chairman of Igoba community).

A family member of the deceased, Chief (Hon.) Friday Bobo described the Late Mrs. Monica Amani as a godly and truthful woman who lived peacefully with all that came across her path, and prayed her soul rest peacefully.

Also, those who shared their experiences on the life of the deceased described her as a gentle, accommodating and God fearing woman. Although it was said that she had many children, however, none survived save for her only child and son, Chief Amani.
