FAREWELL: Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor (Nee Ayoromiegha) Final Journey Home to Kurutie
The Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor (Nee Ayoromiegha), who hails from Okerenkoko, Kunukunuma, and Kurutie communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West- and from Obotobo 1 community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu local government areas, both of Delta State, transcends the earthly plane at the age of 80 years on March 26, 2024.
And so, families, friends and other sympathisers from both Gbaramatu and Ogulagha kingdoms trooped en masse to Kurutie to pay their last respect to the Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor at a social wake-keep ceremony organised in her honour on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
The final journey of the Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor began in the city of Warri when her remains was conveyed from the Safe Haven Mortuary via Miller Waterfront near N.P.A to her hometown, Kurutie, in noon time on Tuesday.
On arrival, the casket housing her remains was moved to the funeral venue in Kurutie for a lying-in-state, while later in the day, families, friends and other guests gathered together for the social wake-keep ceremony.
Described as a kind-hearted and a super mother, the deceased will forever be missed and remembered while being alive for her motherly role especially in bringing together and fostering unity within her family members and those in the community at large.
As is with most social wake-keep ceremonies, major highpoints include music entertainment and dance, in-law greetings, and testimonials shared by family members and others who are familiar with the life lived by the deceased.
Survived by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren among other relatives, the Late Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor was interred in the early hours of Wednesday after the wake-keep ceremony, amidst tears and lamentations from relatives.
While 80 years may seem like a long time (in comparison to the high rate of untimely deaths), it is the wish of families and friends that the Late Ogulasuoere Ukulor had lived much longer, going by her show of love to all she came across, a character trait they would definitely miss but which will keep her memories forever in their hearts.
May her golden soul rest peacefully in the Bosom of her Creator, the Lord God Almighty (Amen).
