DELTA: Emir of Bida Prays for Peace, Unity as Orodje of Okpe, Ovie of Idjerhe kingdoms Play Host to Etsu Nupe, Igwe Sheikh Emetumah III of Oguta

The Emir of Bida, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar CFR, in company of HRM Igwe Sheikh Abdulfatah Chimaeze Emetumah III, the grand Imam/Ofor of Umuofor Kingdom in Oguta, Imo State, has offered prayers of unity among Nigerians and peace in the country.

The Emir, who is the 13th Etsu Nupe and the Chairman of Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, made the prayers when His Highness was hosted by the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo CFR, Orhue 1, and the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, Udurhie 1 on Tuesday, January 16.

Recall that the Etsu Nupe had visited Ajemeli community in the town of Sapele in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State for a housewarming ceremony.

The Emir also used the opportunity to extend invitation to the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom to the upcoming Nupe festival taking place in Niger State by June 2024.

Highlights of the visit include the presentation of gifts by the Orodje of Okpe to the Emir of Bida. Included among the gifts is a traditional handheld fan (Adjudju), a symbol of higher status.

Also in attendance during the visit are members of the Okpe Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs, members of the Emir's entourage, as well as a notable peace and environmental advocate, Chief Sheriff Mulade who is the Ibe Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
