BIOGRAPHY: The Ejoh's, Itima's Honour Late Mother Mrs. Pine Uluse Yellow with Befitting Rite

updated 25 Jan, 2025

Gathered at the Vennell Hospital morgue in Okumagba Avenue, Warri, Delta State, in the early hours of Friday (January 24, 2025), the children and family members of late Mrs Pine Uluse Ejoh Yellow Itima, have just one mission—to honour their departed caring and loving mother with a befitting burial rite.

It was not a joyful occasion, yet they had to put on a mood of celebration. At the age of 95 years, they were comforted by the fact that their beloved departed mother lived a long life. But even at that, the empty space her absence had created in their hearts will undeniably be difficult to fill. The role she played as a mother and father will forever have a lasting impact on their lives.

The late Mrs Pine Uluse Ejoh Yellow Itima was born in the year 1930 to the families of Late Pa. Itima Okoroware Fafa of Ogeh Quarters in Kunukunuma Town and Fafa Quarter in Pepe-Ama Town; as well as to Late Pa. Mala Iyenanabor of Oporoza Town and Inikorogha Town, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

She wasn't opportune to acquire education due to the early demise of her father, Pa. Itima. However, that did not diminish her passion for education as she promised herself that what she couldn't achieve in her youth, her children would. At a tender age, she took up the fishing profession which later became her source of livelihood.

She got married to late Pa. Uluse Ejoh and the union was fruitful with 10 children and a set of twins making it 12 children. At the time of her demise on April 26, 2024, she is survived by five children, 26 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

To fulfill her self-made promise she pushed for her children’s education while depending on her fishing business with her husband to cater for the needs of her family. She passed through so many challenges in raising her children.

On her religious life, late Mrs Pine Uluse Ejoh Yellow Itima got born again on April 12, 2013, at the Life Bible Ministry after the death of her late husband. She became a dedicated member until she left the church when she moved to Inikorogha where she joined the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

In describing the late mother, her biography by the children reads: "She was a loving and caring mother that has equal love and care for all her children and grandchildren when she was alive. When things were tough financially, Mama borrowed to take care and pay for her children’s school fees. Even in her sick bed, Mama showed concern for her children’s welfare. She gives generously to everyone who comes her way. Mama does not also discriminate; she is a cheerful giver and can give her last savings to anyone in need.

"Mama’s hospitality was equal to none; her sense of humour was extraordinary which earned her astonishing love and respect from both the young and the old. She was well-loved by her peers, children, siblings; her husband’s family and all that have had encounter with her. She will be forever remembered.

“Our loving and caring mother, your presence will be missed so much. Rest on Mom; your memories we treasure, your children, grandchildren, beloved family members will continue to carry on with your evergreen legacy. May your gentle soul rest in the Bosom of the Lord and in perfect peace, Amen.”

Meanwhile, for the children and family members, it would be a celebration of life as they intend to give their departed caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother a befitting burial rite in honour of her memory as a woman who played the dual role of mother and father in their lives as well as demonstrated her unconditional love so her children become successful.
