The Fejokwu and the Ekpetipu families, accompanied by their friends and other sympathisers, conveyed the remains of the late Mrs Doris Wariyinrin Fejokwu (Nee Ekpetipu) to her hometown, Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West council area, for the funeral mass and interment ceremony on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

The final journey of the Drama Queen, as the deceased is fondly called, began in the morning hours from the Safe Haven Mortuary, Warri, in a motorcade to the Miller Waterfront near the popular N.P.A., and from there by boat to her hometown.

Tears, occasioned by grief, dotted the landscape as family members and other sympathisers struggled to accept the reality of the sudden departure of a vibrant woman of steez, who to them, left too early at the age of 52 years.

According to the Biography of the late Mrs. Doris Fejokwu, titled 'An Angel in the Mirror' as authored by a friend of the family, Mr. Lawrence Chukwudi Izegbu, the Drama Queen was born in 1972 to the family of "Late Captain Alfred Owei Ekpetipu hailing from Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State," who he said "was blessed with the arrival of a celestial being, Doris. This beautiful child was born with an aura of uniqueness, heralding the emergence of a quintessential woman of unparalleled beauty.

"As the daughter of a force man, Doris’ formative and teenage years were marked by an unwavering commitment to discipline, instilling in her an impeccable behavior that would become the hallmark of her existence.

"As she navigated the hallowed halls of learning, Doris academic prowess shone brightly, earning her admission into the prestigious Don Dominigos Secondary School, Warri, followed by a meritorious experience at Delta State University, where she graduated with a degree in Marketing.

"It would be an exercise in futility to attempt to capture the essence of this captivating lady, for her sterling qualities defy quantification. Doris, an Angel in the Mirror, possessed a beauty that was at once scintillating, captivating and alluring, leaving an indelible mark in the hearts of all who beheld her.

"Her smile, a radiant beacon of joy, and her gait, a symphony of elegance, inspired admiration from both the young and the old. Her presence illuminated the world around her, casting a warm glow on all who were fortunate to bask in her radiance.

"Doris’ personality was a masterful blend of warmth, kindness and generosity, making her an enchanting presence in any gathering. Her culinary skills, a testament to her creativity and flair, earned her a reputation as one of the finest caterers in Delta State and beyond.

"Nicknamed the ‘Drama Queen’ for her vibrant personality and charming friendly nature, Doris won the hearts of all who crossed her path, including that of her late mother-in-law (Sam Fejokwu’s mum) who was enamoured with her exceptional cooking skills.

"Until her demise, Doris was an Executive Officer serving in the Ministry of Lands and Survey in the Delta State Civil Service. Though her time on this mortal territory was fleeting, Doris’ impact on those who knew her will be felt for eternity. She was the wife of our good friend, Samuel Fejokwu, who serves as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Delta State on Protocol. Sammy is renowned for his exceptional oratory skills and captivating communication prowess, which has garnered widespread admiration from diverse audiences within Delta State and beyond.

"Doris’ thread was woven with precision and purpose, only to be severed by the capricious hand of fate. As we bid farewell to this shining star, we take comfort in the knowledge that her memory will continue to inspire and uplift us.

"May the Almighty grant her family and friends the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may Doris’ soul find eternal rest in the Bosom of the Lord. My earnest prayer is for God to give my friend, Sammy Fejokwu, and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

"Farewell, the Drama Queen, your passing leaves an unfillable void in our lives. Your time is up, says the Lord. It is goodnight!!"
