BIG MAMA: Message of Condolence from RCCG Holy Ghost Vineyard Missions Zone to the Tonlagha Family

12 Dec, 2023

When Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour saw the anguish of mourners on the loss of Lazarus, He wept (John 11:35). Earlier in that passage, our Saviour had said: “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” (John 11:4) an affirmation that all things work together for the glory of our Father in Heaven (Romans 8:28).

Therefore, drawing confidence from the confession of our Lord and Saviour, we of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Gbaramatu Missions Board in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, sorrowfully but not without hope, express our sympathy in condolence over the loss of MADAM EVELYN EKOMIEYEFA TONLAGHA (BIG MAMA) to Mummy Margaret Tonlagha (mother of the deceased), Engr. Matthew Tonlagha (our patron), Dcn (High Chief) Isaac Igbokuwei Gbabo, and other family members of Big Mama.

As expected, we received the sad news of her sudden demise with great shock and disbelief. December is a month of celebration and we were nonetheless full of positive expectations. But alas, the tragic news was all true as she was laid to eternal rest on Monday, December 11th 2023.

It is our prayers that the Lord comfort and console the Tonlagha and other associated family members and those the departed left behind. May her gentle soul rest in peace and in the Bosom of the Lord Almighty until the Resurrection Day when the trumpet shall sound and we shall all meet again to part no more forever.

Therefore we admonish the family to be of good courage and know that it is not the end for Big Mama. In a situation like this, despite the heavy burden of grief such circumstance may place on our hearts, we have confidence in our Lord and Saviour who defeated death, and thus through him as believers we too are overcomers.

May such incident never again occur in the Tonlagha family or be our portion in this life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Please, on behalf of the RCCG family in Oporoza and all of us in the RCCG Gbaramatu Missions Board, kindly accept our condolences.

Signed:
