A MOTHER'S HONOUR: Late Mrs Okpotobor Raymond Posigha gets Befitting Burial
After more than seven years after her sudden demise on February 1, 2017, at the age of 88 years, the late Mrs. Posigha was finally honoured with a befitting burial rite by her children as led by Dr. Posigha Bassil and other family members, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The burial ceremony held at Ogbinbiri Town in Egbema Kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, hometown of the deceased.
The late Mrs. Posigha hails from the families of Late Pa. Iyereje Idoro of Abi Idumu in Ogbinbiri Town, Warri North L.G.A. of Delta State, and from Late Febo Donyabe of Toidigha Idumu in Ofunama, Ovia South-West L.G.A. of Edo State, all in Egbema Kingdom.
The late Mrs. Posigha got married to her husband, Pa. Raymond Posigha, who is currently the Ama-Okosuwei of Ogbinbiri, and the union produced 10 children, but with only seven survivors.
The children are Ms. Ewanimi Ebosa, Late Perebo Ebosa, Late Pankae Ebosa, Mr. Paul Posigha, Asst. Prof. Bassil Posigha, Mrs. Abiodun Gbadia, Ms. Grace Posigha, Mr. Augustine Posigha, Mr. Ayebitorufa Posigha and Late Pius Posigha
Other descendants of late Mrs. Posigha include 54 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
With music supplied by Abraham, a social wake-keep ceremony held in honour of the late Mrs. Posigha in Abi-Idumu, Ogbinbiri Town with dances among other entertainment activities.
The burial ceremony brought back the memories of those who knew the late Mrs. Posigha as they reminisced on the life lived by the deceased.
Indeed, one of the ways that the living choose to honour those who have crossed over to the land of no return is in giving the departed a befitting burial rite, especially when such a soul is advanced in age. And for the children of the late Mrs. Posigha, it was a done deal.
