The voice of the king does not only convey words understandable to mortal men, it also carries with it 'Power!' Hence, when a king speaks, all remain silent; even nature give ear to the one whom God has assigned and crowned to lead His people. And that was the atmosphere at the golden palace of His Majesty, Elder Capt. King Joseph Ijawperebo Timiyan PhD (JP), Agbonu, Torububou 1, the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom, whose reign clocked 19 years on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

As is the tradition, subjects from all over the kingdom had come to celebrate their revered king and to honour His Majesty with gifts among other social activities. And because such a gathering is not an everyday affair, it presents the people an opportunity to also hear words of wisdom from the Ebenanaowei. And they were not disappointed!

Having paid homage and presented their gifts, with prayers and goodwill wishes for the Ebenanaowei whose reign that began in 2005 had attracted peace, development, growth and prosperity to the people of Ogulagha Kingdom, it was now the turn of His Majesty to return the favour.

His Majesty thanked his subjects for the massive love demonstrated in the offer of gifts, and that despite the current economic challenges brought about by inflation, they still made sacrifices to turn up in their numbers to celebrate his reign on the throne.

Harping on the theme of love, His Majesty charged his subjects to let love lead in all their affairs, stressing that with love, which births unity, there is nothing that the people cannot achieve in the kingdom. In essence, it is the love they have for one another that will drive the development of the kingdom.

His Majesty counseled them to beware of envying one another, and particularly that those who do not have should not be jealous of those who have, as no condition is permanent, assuring that the Almighty God who favoured his reign can also do the same and even do much more for them.

The Ebenanaowei crowned his counsel with prayers of blessings upon his subjects and the kingdom at large.

Earlier on, one of His Majesty's subjects, Chief Amb. (Dr.) Apst. Godspower Tomone, the Amatelemowei of the kingdom and CEO of Godspina Int'l Limited, presented a Meritorious Leadership Award to His Majesty in recognition of the Ebenanaowei's transformational leadership as exemplified in human empowerment and infrastructural developmental projects across Ogulagha Kingdom for the past 19 years.

Chief Tomone also presented an Award of Excellence to a co-chief, Chief Felix Ebah, the Perebebefiyewei of the kingdom, for his oratory prowess in service to the Ebenanaowei and the kingdom at large.

Highlight of the ceremony was the cutting of the 19th Coronation Anniversary cake by His Majesty and group photograph with his subjects, before proceeding outdoors for the day's celebration with guests.
