WSW LG ELECTION: Comrade Esther David Roots for PDP Victory Ahead July 13 Polls

updated 10 Jul, 2024

A faithful of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Esther David, has called out supporters of the ruling party to come out en masse to cast their votes for the victory of the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni, and its councillorship candidates in the forthcoming LG elections slated for Saturday, July 13, 2024, in the state.

The charge from the versatile political diva, Comrade Esther, who hails from Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, is coming on the heels of the PDP national campaign rally in the state capital, Asaba, on Wednesday, July 10.

Speaking on the forthcoming LG election, specifically in Warri South-West Constituency, the vocal female supporter and philanthropist believes that the current crop of candidates being paraded by the PDP have all it takes to deliver good governance and in line with the MORE Agenda of the leader of the party, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

In her words, "This is a clarion call on Deltans, particularly in Warri South-West Constituency, to come out in their large numbers to vote for the candidates of our great party, the People's Democratic Party, come Saturday, July 13.

"I can assure Deltans in Warri South-West that with these candidates, the Local Government Council is set to experience a total turnaround in leadership and administration in consonance with the MORE Agenda of our party leader and Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori," she stated confidently.

Comrade Esther, who is also known as the Queen of the South, appealed to fellow women to participate in politics to make their voices heard just as she urged the electorates to rise up to their duty as citizens and vote peacefully.

"I appeal to my women folks in Warri South-West to mobilize and come out en masse on Saturday for the LG election. They should not forget that without us (women) there is no politics.

"At the same time I also appeal to fellow Deltans to not be deceived. Their votes will surely count and so they should say 'No' to Voters' apathy. They should be a part of the process of governance which starts with their votes, by voting peacefully in this election for the PDP for continuity of good governance, as that is their civic duty.

"Once again, Deltans should vote the Divine Mandate of the PDP for a prosperous Warri South-West Council come Saturday, July 13. A victory for the PDP is saying yes to more development, more empowerment, and effective representation," she stressed.

The July 13 LG election, which is to be conducted by the state electoral commission, holds across the state with the ruling PDP and the opposition APC the major contending political parties among others that are participating in the exercise.
