WARRI SOUTH-WEST: Legislative Assembly screens, confirms 4 supervisory councilors

The Rt. Hon. Samuel Ekpemupolo-led 7th Legislative Assembly in the Warri South-West Local Government Council, Delta State, has successfully screened and confirmed four supervisory councillors of the executive arm of the local government, describing the process as "a significant step towards building a strong and progressive Council."
The supervisory councillors who were confirmed after screening by councillors in the legislative arm are Chief Anthony Igere, Miss Regina Igangan, Hon. Moses Ogugu, and Mr. Buhari Oriade.
Their screening and confirmation held in the floor of the Legislative Assembly in the Council's headquarters at Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

While confirming the supervisory councillors, the house leader, Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo, who congratulate them, wish the quartet a productive service to the Council.
Supervisory councillors at the local government level are part of the executive organ of the local government, responsible for implementing and enforcing laws and policies at the local government level.
Supervisory councillors are elected officials who oversee the work of the executive organ and ensure that it is functioning effectively and efficiently. They also have the power to investigate and audit the executive organ to ensure that it is acting in accordance with the law and is using public resources responsibly.
Supervisory councillors therefore play a crucial role in promoting accountability and transparency in local government administration.
