WARRI: Amb. Nwachukwu cautions against repeat of crisis, advocates for peace

Ambassador Endurance E. Nwachukwu, a respected peace advocate and champion for the development of women and children, has issued a passionate plea for peace in Warri and its surrounding communities amidst the growing tensions stirred by the Independent National Electoral Commission's Ward Delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency, Delta State.
Speaking at a well-attended community engagement forum, Amb. Nwachukwu emphasized the devastating impact of conflict on the most vulnerable—women and children, and urged citizens, especially mothers, to rise up and defend peace, warning of the dangers of allowing history to repeat itself.
“We are yet to fully recover from the consequences of the 2017 Warri crisis, and we are not ready for another showdown,” she stated, and further appealed, “Let us not allow the embers of violence to ignite crisis again in our land.”
She called on women to assume their critical roles as nation builders, urging them to speak out, to unite and actively promote peace in their respective homes and communities.
“The future of our children is too precious to be jeopardized by strife. I plead with everyone—let us lay down our machetes and give peace a chance,” she urged.
Amb. Nwachukwu also appealed to traditional rulers, youth leaders, political stakeholders, and civil society groups to come together and ensure that peace and justice prevail, noting that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and order.
In her call to action, she encouraged the media, community-based organizations, and well-meaning Nigerians to amplify the message of peace and to engage in dialogue and civic education to ensure the stability of the region during this critical time.
“Let us be the generation that ends the cycle of violence and raises a banner of peace for future generations,” she concluded.
Ambassador Nwachukwu is an internationally recognized advocate for peace and social development, known for her grassroots campaigns promoting women empowerment, children’s rights, and conflict resolution in the Niger Delta and beyond. Her tireless work in vulnerable communities has earned her national and global recognition, including honors for humanitarian service.
