The leadership of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, which comprises Delta, Edo, and Ondo States, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Eseimokumo Ogonikara I, the Agadagba of Tubutoru-Ijaw Kingdom in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on his recent presentation of Staff of Office by the Ondo State Government led by His Excellency, Orimisan Lucky Ayedatiwa.

The INC Western Zone led by its Chairman, Barr. Priye Noel Kuete, LL.M., congratulated the monarch during their courtesy and solidarity visit at the royal palace in Tubutoru on Monday, January 12, 2025.

Barr. Kuete who noted that the presentation of the Staff of Office was a well-deserved recognition, described the presentation as a historic and landmark achievement, not only for the Tubutoru-Ijaw Kingdom, but also for the entire Ijaw Nation in Ondo State and Worldwide.

Speaking during the visit, members of the delegation expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Ondo State, Orimisan Lucky Ayedatiwa for approving and facilitating the presentation of the Staff of Office to the monarch.

They further described the gesture as a demonstration of inclusive governance, respect for traditional institutions and recognition of the cultural heritage and identity of the Ijaw people. 

The delegation also commended notable Ijaw leaders, elders and key stakeholders whose sustained advocacy, unity and commitment made the long-awaited recognition a reality.

Barr. Priye Kuete emphasized that the recognition of the Tubutoru-Ijaw Kingdom is a significant step toward strengthening traditional leadership, fostering peace and promoting socio-cultural development within Ijaw communities across the Western Zone.

In his response, HRM Eseimokumo Ogonikara I, expressed deep appreciation to the INC Western Zone leadership for the visit, describing it as a strong show of solidarity and unity among the Ijaw people. 

The monarch reaffirmed his commitment to using his royal office to promote peace, development, cultural preservation and harmonious coexistence among his people, while maintaining constructive engagement with the Ondo State Government.

The visit concluded with prayers, exchange of goodwill messages and renewed calls for unity among Ijaw communities, as well as sustained collaboration with government authorities, other tribes in the Ondo State and stakeholders, to advance the collective interests and development of the Ijaw nation.
