TRIBUTE: A Night of Honour for Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala Nee Fiyemortua Ejoh
For the Mala family, the passing unto eternal glory of their beloved golden mother, late Mrs. Inainimi Abei Mala nee Fiyemortua Ejoh, at the age of 68 years was unexpected, but nonetheless accepted as the Will of God. Rather than cry, the family choose to honour her departure "to a better place" with a befitting burial rite at her hometown, Inikorogha community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, on Friday, February 28, 2025.
The Mala family were initially planning to open their beloved mother's house for her birthday celebration. But sadly, fate had a different plan. But determined to fulfill their desired wish for their mother, they however, on arriving the community, took her corpse into the building erected for her.
"Some persons may be wondering, why are they taking it to the house? This house is built for her. And my intention is to build the house so that we can come here to celebrate her. But God knows the best. Even in that, we need to honour her, let her enter the house. And I'm sure that her spirit is rejoicing because she's in a better place, and so, and that's why I don't want to see anybody weeping," Pastor Friday Mala, the first son, echoed his words to family members and guests that witnessed the occasion.
As part of honouring his beloved mother, he then went ahead to read his special tribute penned down in honour of her memory:
"A tribute to my beloved mother. The hardest thing I have ever had to deal with is seeing you lifeless on a casket. It really broke me, it feels so real but we are going to celebrate a life well lived; she lived a life well lived.
"You taught me the true meaning of humanity compassion contentment and values. You were more than just a mother, you were a guide, a protector and a beacon of strength, touching not just your family but everyone who has the privilege of knowing you.
"We will continue to live by these principles and uphold your teachings because you have left a legacy that will uplift us all. I miss you so much my beloved mother, so much, my prayer warrior, my hero, anchor.
"You may be gone but your spirits will forever steer us in the right direction. Forever you will remain in our hearts, this is my tribute my beloved mother. And it's a promise, by the grace of God, this house will be completed," he added.
A Christian funeral service followed thereafter with scripture readings, presentation of biography of the deceased, testimonials by family and friends, a brief sermon by Pastor Samuel Ukuli, and was wrapped up with interment ceremony.
In the later part of the day, a social ceremony was held where guests were entertained with music and refreshments in celebration of the life lived by the late Mrs. Inainimi Abei Mala.
