TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE: Orogun Agog With Celebration as Clem Aruwei Plucks Golden Flower Blessing George
Love, they say, is the greatest feeling. And that feeling was demonstrated on Friday, August 2, 2024, when Engr. Clem Ebitorufa Oginibo Aruwei, a native of Kunukunuma Town in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, fulfilled all requirements in relation to traditional marriage and took as wife, a native of Otorho, Orogun in Ughelli North L.G.A., Miss Blessing Eloho George, now officially addressed as Mrs. Blessing Eloho Aruwei.
This journey had first begun when the groom spotted a very attractive and beautiful flower planted somewhere in Delta Central. Despite being from Delta South, he wouldn't allow distance to separate him from possessing such a golden flower.
Therefore, in a daunting task to secure his interest, accompanied by families and friends, the handsome groom adorned in traditional outfit suited for the occasion, embarked on a journey to the destination of the flower, and arrived at the location.
As is the custom with traditional marriage in Delta State, the groom and his train of guests were welcomed and entertained outdoors by the bride's family, who also demanded from their guests the reason for the August visit.
In response, the groom's family responded that their son had discovered a very attractive and beautiful flower he desired to pluck and plant in his garden so that the attractive and beautiful flower will populate his garden with similar flowers and add its scent to the serenity of nature in his abode. To be specific, they described the flower, identified her name and colour.
Thereafter, both families proceeded indoors (garden) so the groom and his families can finally pluck the attractive and beautiful flower but after doing the needful for those who owned the flower and had preserved it in their garden—the payment of a bride price and the fulfillment of other requests.
Then came that moment everyone had been waiting for, the appearance of the attractive and beautiful flower which the groom quickly plucked for himself.
"Kiss the bride, it's now yours," echoed the crowd of guests to the cheerful groom at the height of the ceremony after plucking his delicate flower. As far as the guests were concerned, the groom should start tending to his golden flower immediately with no time to waste!
Like an athlete that had won an Olympic medal, the groom, now a proud husband, paraded outdoors as he showcased the attractive and beautiful flower to everyone who cared to look, as they both danced to the rhythmic tunes of love in celebration of their union.
It was indeed a memorable day for the two love birds, one that has charted a new beginning and journey in their lives; a journey that will no longer to be traveled alone as bachelor and spinster, but now as husband and wife.
We at PENGlobal say Congratulations to the latest couple and wishing them a fruitful, peaceful, prosperous and a fulfilled union in their garden of love, as they prepare for their wedding ceremony at the Uvwie Marriage Registry, G.R.A. Effurun, on Saturday, August 3, and a reception ceremony at the NNPC Junior Staff Club, Bendel Estate, Effurun, on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
