TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE: Dcn. Collins Finds Love Again in Princess Buname, Says “It’s A New Beginning In My Life”

updated 14 Aug, 2023

For most couple, getting married is a once in a lifetime achievement, especially those who choose the practice of monogamy. But for Dcn. Collins Febaide, a native of Oboro Quarter in Benikrukru community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta, he never had plans to get married more than once save for the uneventful loss of his first wife some years ago.

However, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the gentle and soft-spoken assistant pastor in the RCCG zonal headquarter, Adullam Model Parish, got married in a traditional marriage ceremony to his new found heartthrob, Princess Buname, the daughter of the Amananowei of the great Ekeni Kingdom, His Royal Highness E. Toruomoni, Ekeni II in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State.

“It’s a new beginning in my life, I have to start afresh again because the Bible says when a man lost his wife, when you are of the age to marry, you can remarry and start a new life. I am beginning a new life again and I pray that God will give me and my wife sound health, so that this new beginning will be more brighter,” Dcn. Collins said during a chat with PENGlobal Social after the marriage ceremony, and added “The Bible says the end of a thing is better than the beginning. I believe that my remarrying is going to be great, I will not regret it and the Word of God says it.”

The traditional marriage climaxed with a reception party held in honour and in celebration of the latest couple’s union. As always as witnessed in most reception party relating to marriage, the couple cut their marriage cake, had their first dance together, and took turns to showcase their love by feeding themselves each other.

Dcn. Collins, speaking on how he met his wife, also revealed the qualities that endeared him to settle for Princess Buname even though he never anticipated marrying from a royal family.

“I didn’t have it in mind that I must marry a princess. It was by the grace of God. I am a minister of God and He gave me certain revelations about six months ago, from last year October I was praying for a divine connection, for God to connect me to a faithful woman. I started the process last year November and I asked God to give me a wife that can support me in the ministry.”

It turned out that his prayers were answered when a relative, in the month of March, drew his attention on the need for him to remarry in order to avoid temptations and in the process introduced him to the woman that would later become his wife.

“And precisely this year, by March, someone connected me and reminded me that my wife has passed on for almost six years and there are a lot of temptations on the way, that I need to marry. I agreed with him and informed him that I am planning it but I haven’t seen anyone, even within my church, that matches my desire to serve God with me. It was then he informed me that he had someone (but he didn’t tell me she was from a royal home).

“So, along the process, it was then that I got to know she was a princess. It was all a divine connection. First of all we meet and talked about two months before we met physically. And the characters I saw in her are, one, she is industrious; two, she is very smart; and above all she is a faithful and a dedicated Christian.”

On her part, Princess Buname, expressed her joy in the fulfillment of her dream while she also described her beloved husband as caring and a man with God in his heart.

“I am so happy. I am the happiest woman right now. I never thought of marriage by now though I prayed for God’s intervention that this year will not pass me by. If really I am serving God, let Him prove Himself, and really God did it for me.

“My husband is a nice man, lovely and caring husband. In the things of God he is so serious. And I love somebody like that. He is very disciplined. I need peace of mind, that God should give me children, and long life in our marriage,” she prayed.
