THANKSGIVING: Elder Isaac Timiyan Rejoices as Family Recounts 10 Harrowing Days and Nights Between Life and Death

22 Apr, 2024

"God is really great; and this (predicament) really made me understand more that God is great. How somebody that they say is dead, God glorify the person back to life. God is Great!"

Those were the words of Elder Isaac Imoni Timiyan, a native of Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, while sharing his testimony in appreciation to the Almighty God for delivering him from the hands of death at a Thanksgiving Service that held at the Life Church of God Ministry Inc. in Warri, on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The Elder, in company of family members and other sympathizers, danced vigorously in excitement to music of praises to the Almighty God as he made his way to the altar. To him, it was one of the most important days of his life. At that hour he could've been in the morgue if not for the supernatural intervention by his Creator.

First admitted March 9, 2024, at the Vicah Specialist Hospital in Warri, wherein he spent four days before being transferred to another hospital, Lily Clinic in Udu, wherein he spent another six days, Elder Isaac Timiyan's state of being could be described as 'unconscious' as he wasn't aware of his predicament and it was even reported that he couldn't identify any member of his family. He was completely in a state of morbidness.

According to the Elder, while recounting his ordeal to the congregation, said he was only being told later by his family members what had transpired for the time being that he was unconscious, just as he handed the microphone to another member of his family to help him narrate the story.

"This is one day we need to give thanks to God," said Elder (Capt.) Mark Timiyan, an elder brother delegated to give his account of what had transpired to the congregation during the Thanksgiving service. "Just like what my brother said, he knew nothing. Right from the first day he was taken to Vicar clinic, he didn't know anything, he couldn't even recognise me, not to talk of other siblings. On the final day at Vicar Clinic when most of us were called that something wrong is about to happen (most of us where there the previous day), we rushed to the clinic.

"Few of us that got there first saw something great. Infact, our brother was lifeless. He couldn't talk or move his hand. He was just lying down there... Most of us were confused. What do we do? We decided to take him to Lily Clinic on a stretcher. In Lily, we took him to the emergency center. They activated their emergency alarm and the doctors and the nurses were running up and down. I was just looking at him, I couldn't see a living breath in him. They took him in like a corpse. Most of us were praying.

"They took him in for some hours. Infact, most of us lost hope. Will he come out alive? We waited for some hours. We were told his case was serious and they will move him to a ward. That news gave me some sense of encouragement. When somebody leaves emergency room to a hospital ward there is hope.

"I believe and I know that even doctors say 'We treat, God heals'. And that is our belief. At the last day I went there with some other persons he was able to move, sit on the bed; before that time he couldn't eat and had to be fed. Days after he was able to recognise some persons. It was the very last day that I discovered that he has come alive and was able to call my name. I want to attribute it to the Almighty Father," he said.

"My elder brother has said it all," a relative, Chief George Timiyan, chipped in, and added, "But during that critical period, the very day the rushed him to Lily Clinic. In a short while his daughter came in and said her phone is ringing and her pastor wants to pray. We took the phone to my brother who took it in and touched him while the prayer was on. That, I believe, did a lot of things... After that prayer they moved him to emergency, and after a short while they now moved him to the ward just as my brother has said. It is indeed, not human being," he noted.

The General Overseer, Rev. Jethro Ayemobuwa of the Life Church of God Ministry, who later prayed for the Elder and his family members, also attested to the unbelievable health state of the Elder when he was called upon, saying that "Even when I was called in the midnight on what is happening, what I saw, it's just that we rely on what the Bible says. I pray that God will strengthen our faith," he prayed, and added, “Infact, when I haven't been there, my faith was stronger than when I got there to see him... But I said 'If God can being Lazarus from the dead, then how much more with what I'm seeing.”

The celebration continued at the residence of Elder Isaac Timiyan as families and friends trooped in to congratulate him on his swift miraculous recovery, and nonetheless give thanks to God for turning their state of gloom into celebration.
