ROYAL PROJECT 2024: This is a Plus to Gbaramatu, Niger Delta — Aketekpe throws weight behind 2nd Edition of PENGlobal Watch

27 Jul, 2024

The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II JP (Aketekpe, Agadagba), has described the forthcoming second edition of the PENGlobal Watch magazine tagged 'The Royal Project 2024' as "a plus to Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State, and Niger Delta region" while throwing his weight behind the initiative.

His Majesty gave the commendation when committee members Hon. Mackson Ukuli and Comr. Mrs. Stella Bobo Mesahrun of The Royal Project 2024, as led by the Brand Director of PENGlobal, Mr. Abai Francis, paid an official visit to the Pere to brief the revered traditional father on kick-starting the project, to seek for his blessings and support.

In attendance during the visit to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom are the Pere of Olodiama Kingdom in Edo State, Alagbabunafa III; the Perediwei, Chief Julius Tonfawei; the Ibe Serimowei, Chief Sheriff Mulade; the Amadiwei of Ikantu community, Chief (Hon.) Shola Gbofeyin, Mr. Ossai Joseph among others.

According to the Brand Director during the briefing of the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, the project aims to capture Ijaw traditional rulers in a bid to create awareness among the Ijaws, other Nigerians and the global world at large on the identities of the various rulers and the kingdom they preside over, among other relevant information.

Though, initially with focus on Delta state, the project was modified to also capture Ijaw traditional institutions in both Edo and Ondo states, the three states that make up the geographical Western Zone of the spread of the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria.

In his response, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, who had been pre-informed in 2023 when the Brand Director earlier presented His Majesty with copies of the first edition, applauded the zeal of the publisher in pushing ahead with the plan.

His Majesty gave his blessings to the committee members and prayed for the success of the project while he also counseled members to be prayerful and to work hard irrespective of challenges or drawbacks in the way.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of documented information request by Hon. Ukuli on behalf of The Royal Project 2024 committee to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, received by the Perediwei, Chief Tonfawei.

The PENGlobal Watch is a lifestyle and entertainment magazine published from the stables of the business and social brand promotional organisation, PENGlobal Associates Limited (PAL), through its media segment, PENGlobal, whose first edition was launched June 2023 in Warri, Delta State.
