Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF) has honoured the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West council area of Delta State, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, with an Award of Honour while describing the first-class monarch as a “True Father”.

The noble recognition was proclaimed on His Majesty by the GICF when the leadership of the Christian body paid an official visit to the headquarters of the kingdom, Oporoza, to present the royal father with the Award of Honour, on Saturday, December 29, 2024.

The GICF entourage comprises of the Chairman, Pastor Samuel T. Ukuli; Vice Chairman, Dr. Mathias Zion Amaye; Secretary, Pastor Abraham Tebiano; Programme Coordinator, Pastor Friday Mala; Publicity Secretary, Pastor Felix Famutua; Rev. Joel Azapere, among others.

The Perediwei, Chief Julius Tonfawei, and the Ebi-Ibananawei, Chief (Hon.) Friday Bobo, both received the GICF entourage on behalf of His Majesty in the golden palace during the visit.

The Award of Honour, according to the GICF, is in recognition of the wisdom and royal guidance the Christian body has received over the years concerning its affairs from the first-class monarch.

Presenting the Award of Honour, the GICF thanked His Majesty for the support and counsel the body received over the years since its inception, a responsibility the body said the royal father discharged wholeheartedly.

The message inscription on the award reads: "Award of Honour to a True Father, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

"Over the years, you have proven the true nature of Fatherhood through the display of explicit wisdom driven by the Holy Spirit. Your discharge of knowledge to us is absolutely thrilling. We are proud to have you as a Father."

His Majesty in his response offered prayers of blessings on the GICF and its leadership, and urged them to continue the good works they have been doing to the glory of the Almighty God and for the spiritual uplifting of the kingdom.
